Draymond & Warriors in trouble? Jokic & Nuggets beat Clippers, Pacers-76ers | Hoops Tonight

Jason Timpf reacts to the Tuesday slate of NBA games which featured Nikola Jokic and the Denver Nuggets beating Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, James Harden, and Russell Westbrook 111-108. The Clippers have not won a game since acquiring James Harden. Jason then reacts to Tyrese Haliburton’s 33-point, 15-assist night where he carried the Pacers to a 132-126 win over Joel Embiid and the Philadelphia 76ers. Finally, Jason reacts to the Warriors and Timberwolves fight where Draymond Green put Rudy Gobert in a choke hold, and resulted in ejections for Draymond and Klay Thompson.

  1. Mailbag question:

I truly believe Harden went to the Clippers to speed up the dismantling of the team. I think Paul George and him will be the only ones left after this season and I feel like that is Harden’s ultimate plan. What do you think Jason?

  2. It’s crazy how great Jokic is at playing winning basketball but if there’s a highly skilled 3-level scoring guard on the opposing team.. he will also be the reason Denver loses. That’s why I can’t wait for the Warriors to match up with the Nuggets in the playoffs

  3. Not gonna lie I was so confused during ur pacers vs sixers breakdown. You kept mixing up maxey with Halliburton

  4. agree on Toppin, has a long way to go but in the Carlisle system, he could thrive IF he gets better. Sixers are elite defensively, but just worn out….they need rest. Bruce Brown yes, got sizzle-punked. But let's see what happens….not sold on Pacers, I think they will take a dive. If McConnell gets more playing time, their defense will get better marks,,,, he is an elite ball stealer and makes teams pay for turnovers. Agree on Matherin, he's in trouble. Subscribed, you know your stuff.

  5. Mailbag: hey Jason I generally play big at my local gym and I wanna grow some guard skills mainly my left handed dribble, are there any specific drills you recommend to start laying down a good groundwork? Thanks!

  6. Sick and tired of ROOKIE refs SEARCHING FOR REASONS to make it hard(er) for Warriors to win!

We NEVER get the benefit of the doubt when ball goes out of bounds. Curry NEVER gets superstar whistle or even get a FAIR whistle when it comes to opponents fouling him. Dray ALWAYS gets cheap techs OR EVEN GETS EJECTED OVER NOTHING (not talking about this one. AND NOW KLAY TOO??

This is disgusting, blatant rigging, and it HAS TO STOP RIGHT NOW!

Mitchell not even picking up his own tech after DELIBERATELY pushing Draymond in RETALIATION is absolutely unacceptable! Gobert NOT EVEN GETTING A TECH FOR HEADLOCKING KLAY IS UNACCEPTABLE.

Meanwhile, Draymond green gets suspended for FIVE GAMES?? RIDICULOUS!

    THIS. IS. ALL. UNACCEPTABLE.

THESE REFS ARE AWFUL AND DON'T HAVE ENOUGH EXPERIENCE! LEAD REF HAD 9 YEAR!!!!

STOP DOING THIS NBA, KEEP IT GODDAMN FAIR!!!! 😤😤😤😤

  7. MAILBAG QUESTION:

Will going out of your way to come push someone, in a non basketball play, to irate a player to get into an altercation with you, so refs can go review an earlier play, set an ugly precedent?

Will players now do this all the time so earlier plays can get reviewed?

I'm absolutely amazed and quite frankly appalled NBA REWARDED this type of behavior.

  8. You ducking okc hard you been talking about everybody even victor than when he play us it’s hush mode 😂

  9. Nuggets are 1st in the league for the second year straight in clutch defense. They don't bother much during regular season unless if they really need/want to. We saw similar in the playoffs, very underrated part of their game and buried deep down under all the "they suck at defense, just PRN them" and similar narratives alongside facts they werent top 10 defense overall last year.

  10. MAILBAG QUESTION: Jason, if you hate focusing on HYPOTHETICALS to make your predictions/analysis, why do you view the Bucks being the team to beat in the east. We can always talk about how great dame and giannis are/could be together, but the truth is they are currently not showing that.

  11. Mailbag question: Second Question Jason, why do nba teams rely so much on traditional p/r every time (center coming up to set screen for a guard) to start an offense, instead actually running plays/sets that are effective. Yes it’s a brute force offense, but didn’t you also say you really need that in playoff crunch times when things are tight…

  12. Mailbag question: we all know by now that Jaylen brown can’t dribble left and that’s a huge limitation come playoff time. Every player has different limitations but If a player is aware of that kind of struggle, why doesn’t his team and him just work on that all summer assuming he’s one summer away from fixing that issue and helping his team reach their ultimate ceiling. Or am I just overreaching for that kind of demand

  13. Mailbag Question: Jason, why are you so high on Austin Reaves after one great playoff run. Don’t get me wrong he projects to be a great number 3 or even number 2 in the future. But If the lakers never made the WCF we would have never found out EARLY ENOUGH how great he CAN be offensively. And just like Jordan poole he had one great playoff run then you predicted he would struggle the following season like every young player would but you seem to be still very high on Austin RIGHT NOW after only ONE great playoff run in his resume. Same case with KPJ in Denver.

  14. Great analysis on the Nuggets-Clippers game. Didn't expect such a deep dive. Would be even better if you could include clips from the game while explaining actions. Also, I'm looking forward for the next NBA power rankings video. I don't have the time to watch as many games as I'd like, so those videos of yours are gonna help me keep up. Liked and subbed. All the best man

  15. Maxey isn't a weak defender. Jason will spotlight one rough game to prove his point but won't view the season as a whole when evaluating Maxey's defense

  16. You make my drives awesome Jason. Thanks for being so good at what you do! Love your analysis. Much love from a nuggets fan 🤙

  17. Steve kerr and ty lou, the two coaches during the 4ish years of cavs vs warriors where small ball was new and dominant seem to be trapped in the past. Teams have gotten bigger again but they refuse to relent.

  18. I'm not watching the season anymore due to Rudy not being suspended too. Dray was defending a team mate regardless of what he has done in the past. Rudy has done the same.

  19. I’m 31 and a warriors fan. I’ve seen them be the worst team and the best But since 2015 it’s hard to accept anything less than elite play at every level
