It's a bit hard to read the Mavs right now, although their opponents haven't been strong, they have been taking care of the business for the most part but they are still inconsistent. They can have an incredible quarter followed by an awful one, a terrible first half with bad defense and then a great defensive second half. So far they have struggled against bigger teams, teams with big wings, Mavs are mostly undersized, just Lively is over 6'10 and this has been a problem for sure – and this has been even more evident now that Kleber is injured. Luka and Kyrie are starting to gel well so that's a positive and the team's defense can get better but they are still 1 or 2 player from being elite. The problem is that they probably don't want to give up on Josh Green and Hardy and now THJr has been playing his best basketball and it's hard to know because these are their best assets.
