Bill Simmons is a Flip Flopper

They hate us cause they ain’t us. Funny how the narrative completely changes after less than 10 games in.

We keep receipts.

Congrats to the true ones who always believed in the potential.

As buddy, buddy as he was with Morey, he hated Houston since forever and I think he just didn’t like Harden and then we deserved to not be embraced by non-local fans for the last three seasons.

It was an interesting segment where Doc agreed and also brought up the U.S. vs. foreign players development via AAU circuits (six games, one practice per week) vs. foreign process (six practices, one game per week) when speaking about Sengun.

Lastly, to end the segment, he actually got Doc to talk about Pat Riley not letting him play in the Knicks vs. Rockets 1994 Finals where he would have played in lieu of John Starks who notoriously choked in the elimination match. Doc was coming off a bad injury from the winter before and at the time the rule was you had to have your 12 man roster set by the beginning of the playoffs. They since changed the rule to series by series and eventually game to game and the late David Stern quipped to Doc that it was referred to as the “Doc Rivers rule.” Pat supposedly regretted it and mentioned it in his memoir (I haven’t read that specific book). Still I think we would have spanked them with Doc on the floor too 😜.

You guys have so much space for rent in your heads, holy shit.

Simmons hates iso ball, which defined the Harden era. I never thought it was a personal distaste for Houston sports as much as not wanting to watch Harden dribble for 20 seconds, then step back and shoot 20 times a game.

He’s not flip flopping, he was just wrong about us like 95% of the media. BS got hate for saying the Rockets were a dumpster fire (which we were) and now is getting hate for saying he actually likes to watch the Rockets. Just because he has a differing from you, doesn’t mean you have to hate him into oblivion.

So he changed his opinion after watching 10
Games.. seems kind of reasonable lol

Proves he’s not really a hater IMO. He was critical when we sucked which is fair and now he thinks we’re for real. A lot of us fans were saying more negative things than he was.

  7. I mean, we are still only a few injuries away from not winning 32 games. 10 games is still very young in the season.

As a long time Bill Simmons listener….he flip flops everywhere. But usually he is a good indicator if someone sucks.

Frankly, I agreed with him. Part of me even thought we’d be bad enough to keep the pick this year. I’m pleasantly surprised to be wrong.

Or there was this new evidence called the games and he changed his opinion?

You act like Simmons was the only media member saying we wouldn’t be good. And guess what? There’s like 72 games left. Let’s see how our season goes before we proclaim ourselves kings of the NBA.

That being said, we’re on pace to finish 79-3
