  1. Yo I would be upset if I paid to see these players and lost out on the chance because the ref threw them out. It's unrealistic, but I would want some of my money back.
If I come to see Beyonce and she gets thrown out and I have to watch backup dancers, I would feel some type of way.

  2. Does tyrese speak Spanish? He sounds like alot of people in my family that speak both English and Spanish he had that accent

  3. wanna talk about soft calls an nfl player got a taunting call for pointing as he scored

  4. Even in a sport as classy as tennis, it’s completely cool to mean mug. How in the world is it not okay to do in a contact sport like basketball? Lol

  5. Adam Silver did say he was interested in growing the game, and allowing players “personality” is a great way to do that. People want to see the mean mugs.

  6. So I do think the refs get things wrong sometimes, like jjredick ejection where he passed the ball to the ref and he wasnt looking and it hit him 😂

However the players/teams get sat down and shown what techs are each season. Tyrese was correct it was dumb….so why did Giannis do it.
Instead of blaming refs just take accountability.
Trying to intimidate an mock players is a dog act anyway.
Staring at fans interacting and involving them is way more interesting than standing infront of a player and trying to stare them down.
If fans dont want Giannis thrown out of a Game, he shouldn't of been swearing at the refs in the 1st tech.
And the stare down for the 2nd.
    Blaming the refs is soft.
I agree dont want superstars thrown out of games. Thats on the player not ref.
Its not rocket science and players/fans bitching about it wont change the outcome.

  7. I only watched about 10 games so far and yet Have not seen 1 flop called. Now they want 2 call mean mugs?🤯

  8. It's sad how the NBA and NFL dont let you show much emotion in some of the most competitive environments in the world.
Gets to a point where its hard to watch no matter how much talent the players have

  9. Agree with JJ's assessment. There should be no technical fouls for mean mugging. Also, taunting need not elicit technicals either, unless its inflammatory and can lead to physical violence.

  10. Next time Adam Silver comes to your pod maybe try to find some balls and ask a guy about flaws in NBA and what can be done about it .

  11. JJ idk if you have done this, but you should try to get a ref on your pod to hear from their perspective about this

  12. Would love to hear you discuss how the NBA sweeps rule changes under the rug from previous years…then brings those same rule emphasis’ back decades later and we just forget lol. The flopping rules were introduced a decade ago, then brushed over

  13. We all know the NBA is rigged; it just sucks when it isn't your turn to win. Oh wait, I forgot, they caught the one and only ref who would ever do such a thing. Not to mention the former mafia bosses outright stating they rig quite literally ever sport, including NBA basketball are just lying. 🙃

  14. The refs don't need to call a tech on flops, they just need to not call anything. The refs are the ENTIRE REASON why flopping happens in the first place! If the refs stop calling it, the players will stop doing it because falling on their asses doesn't help them win.

  15. JJ brought up good examples, Jayson Tatum has regularly gotten techs for clapping at himself, without looking at a ref or saying a word. It’s been ridiculous

  16. I became a fan of the Boston Celtics and the NBA because of Kevin Garnett. Let players express themselves. These are grown men. Stop treating them like children.

  17. Never forget Tim Duncan getting ejected for laughing on the bench. The referee who ejected him should never be considered for any Hall of Fame.

  18. I think if they were to survey the fans and ask what is the biggest thing that needs improvement in the NBA – officiating would be at the top or near the top. The way some of these refs are driven by ego, refusal to overturn incorrect calls and that they can give players tech at their discretion a lot of the time instead of adhering to a standard – and the fact that so many NBA videos are littered with complaints about refs ruining games, it's absolutely clear that the officiating needs to be reviewed/tweaked. Because right now, there are some games that have become literally unwatchable due to poor and awful officiating.

  19. no.

you dont have the best refs in the world.
i watch different football leagues in europe, the basketball euroleague
    the nba, nfl and nhl.

The nba has the worst refs by far and its ruining the league.
I lose interest in the nba day by day.

  20. I think the flopping rule is solid. I think it’s most effective because people don’t know what it is. I’ve seen prettt much everyone really clean up their nonsense as a result except for Philly who egregiously fall all over the place.

  21. I just want to say the league (Players and Refs) should look to the Shawn Kemp/Chris Gatling play.
Gatling gets 1 (I believe 2) blocks under the basket, Kemp grabs the ball and dunks on Gatling and Gatling fouls him. Kemp poses in front of Gatling and Gatling nods his head in acknowledgement of a great play. They dap each other after. Real recognize real, Kemp acknowledged Gatling as a shot-blocker and Gatling acknowledged Kemp as a dunker.
The pose by Kemp prolly would've been a tech in today's game.

  22. It’s because their fragile egos can’t take the embarrassment of being shown up. C’mon, you know what happens when they let it go. Brawls.
Sounds like you would rather have that??

  23. Read this JJ!

Look at the rule for why they allow fighting in the NHL. I'm not saying allow fighting in the NBA but they should give the players a way to check themselves.

    This is my idea.

Separation – players of the same team should try to separate their teammate in a scuffle and not the player of the opposing team.

Player check (to settle the scuffle) – two 10 second one on one possessions, possession of the ball for each player in a scuffle. 2s and 3s count, fouling either way (offensive or defensive) gives 1 free throw attempt to the opposing player (this counts as the technical foul). Player on offense getting fouled in the act of shooting (a 2 or 3) also gets free throws.

The technical fouls for scuffle – If no foul is called on a player during the one on one possessions, no technical fouls assessed. If any player fouls that will count as the technical foul for the scuffle.

Teams next possession – Player with more points wins possession for their team after the 2 one on one possessions. If tied, the 2 players jump ball.

Targeting – automatic ejection from the game

  24. I’m not a big fan of the celebrations in the NFL and NBA specifically. I just feel like it’s a lack of focus and disrespect to the game. Takes me out of it personally.

On a side note I feel like it’s instilling a weird sentiment in the younger generations watching that these team sports are about celebrating their personal accomplishments, even if it’s just one inconsequential made basket or an early game touchdown.

  25. Beside those techs we also really need to get rid of blocking fouls when the offensive player is clearly barreling into the defender (rui vs jerami grant is the best example)

  26. they are trying to stop the after highlight play theatrics because it filters down to young kids who see it and imitate it without fully understanding what they are doing and then take it too far. I think the refs all need some form of counselling too because they are subject to near constant abuse from players and fans. yes the refs have been making a lot of mistakes and have made a lot of questionable calls but they are doing as instructed by the league and for anyone who has officiated at any level can attest to, it is not an easy job by any stretch of the imagination.

  27. I'm tired of seeing refs control a game with techs just because their feelings got hurt from someone arguing a call. The refereeing in the Memphis game where JJJ was ejected was atrocious. It really leads me to believe that some of these refs might be active participants on FanDuel or PrizePicks. The NBA needs to strip the power of the refs to call T's for anything other than dirty plays or for plays that are over the top.
