Nikola Jokic Isn’t the Same Player as Last Year

Denver Nuggets center Nikola Jokic is the best player in the NBA today without a doubt. In the last three seasons, Jokic has won two MVP awards, was a runner-up for another and helped win the first NBA Title in Denver Nuggets franchise history. Jokic has not skipped a beat to open the 2023-2024 NBA season as his reign of dominance continues. Ryan Blackburn and Swipa break down Jokic’s game and talk about how he is in the middle of his own era within the NBA.

  1. Love Jokic as well but you guys are not being honest here. There is clearly a way that someone else makes an argument. And the argument would be if 76ers/Celtics have a way better record than the Nuggets ( I don’t think it’ll happen) and their numbers are great. That’d be the best argument. You dismissed Giannis because the team is struggling so you do acknowledge that winning is a factor. You just ignored it for Jokic 😂 I think he should be MVP but don’t lie either

  2. the crazy thing is.. his dominance started like 4 years ago.. and he is still getting better!!!

  3. He was the best NBA player for the last 3 years. He is doing everything needed for his team to win. Even without Murrey this team is capable of beating every team thanks to Joker.

  4. I think if Joker can stay healthy, then he’ll be able to play for a long time with his style. He doesn’t rely on his athleticism to provide value. Basketball IQ is off the charts.

  5. I just watched the Celtics beat 76er''s, I had to ask myself at start of 4th quarter, where is Embiid the MVP ???? I'm sick of Antiwhiteism !!

  6. He’s 28. That’s when many NBA players typically hit their prime. That’s when, I believe that Jordan hit his prime

  7. Jokic the only reason I watch basketball. My self I like to see more assist less points. That's when the Nuggets are at there best.

  8. 32 points /16 rebounds /9 assists are off night stats for jokic which is closer to wilt stats than dwight howard ever hoped to be, which is quite ironic given the joker distinct playstyle

  9. what particularly excites me is when he hits a run or a spectacular basket… he doesn't have any celebration or grimace… he simply has a dead cold face as if someone else had scored it….

  10. comparing him and shak o nill is funny for me..namely SHAK played mass x acceleration = dispersing the opponent under the basket and finally scoring, defense ok but all other elements Shak is far below… not a single player since the NBA he was not more complete in all aspects of the game… Jokić's only flaw is that he is modest!

  11. Joker is just awesome. He’s the best player in the league, and he’s getting better! He’s the LeBron of the 2020s (tho, hell, LBJ is a top 20 player at almost 39!). I just hope Joker stays healthy physically and mentally, keeps it together. I expect he will.

  12. I was telling my boy about him and I told him to watch him. He “supposedly watched”. I asked what he thinks he said “yeahhh but he’s slow”. I can never talk sports with the guy again….ever.

  13. They robbed him last year , he might be creating something that nobody will ever touch . He deserved 3 MVPs and he's even better this year .

  14. I do think part of the points explosion and the corresponding slight drop in efficiency is Jamaal not being there. I think once Jamaal comes back the assists and efficiency will go up and the points will come down simply because Joker knows he doesn’t have to take some of these lower percentage shots.
