Cuz there to scared to criticize FO
He looks like the only thing he can do is set screens…he can't shoot or rebound and is a pylon on perimeter defense. The only rebounds he get's are the ones that bounce right to him. He is not a shooter so his rebounding numbers should be there but they are not. He isn't blocking shots so he is basically just a big body like a G-leaguer that learned to screen.
Media turns on everyone thats wat the toronto/Canadian media does… think about all that been said and realistically they jus cant shoot everything else pretty solid…not to mention we aint even 10 games in…they got an issue with yak like a year ago we didnt even have center…mann they cant fucking shoot…

We need to address our pick and roll defense. Jakob is getting torched in the switches teams are searching it out. Not just a individual thing, defense is team effort and a lot depends on their system and rotation.

i have zero clue why anyone would give a top 6 pick for a slow center who cant hit a free throw.
Can’t over react. When OG is hurt the whole team looks totally different. We still need to trade pascal. And to me, if we are trading pascal, you might as well trade yak and go young. To bad koloko is dealing with whatever is going on. He can provide basically what yak can. Except he’s a better jumper. He’s faster. Koloko can shoot way better. Especially from the free throw line. If we get past the trade deadline with pascal still on this team Masai needs to go. We all knew it needed to happen last year. And instead Masai is a buyer. He’s wearing rose coloured glasses The talent is here for sure. But it’s to much of one thing. Trade pascal and restock those young assets and picks now

I've seen Jak play passable to decent but there have been games when he's a complete and utter liability.
Other than Scottie, everyone has been below par.

The slow start, in my opinion, is Schroder…not so much Jakob. Dennis isn't respected by other teams i.e watch defenses slack off on him when he's outside the arc. IMO I'd switch Gary into the starting line up (we already know he has good chemistry with Scottie, OG and Siakam) have Dennis run with the bench and see what happens (been saying this since March 2022 just was FVV and not Dennis). Also, been saying Dennis is a bench PG not a starting PG…and PG can be a stretch as he is more of a combo guard than a true PG.
Yeah im going back on what i said about poetl being what we needed last year at deadline. We need a centre but a stretch 5. After watching the future with Scottie ALL-STAR so far, and pascal not sinking 3s / his future up in the air, we need a full commitment to build around Scottie or he will leave. Believe that.
If poetl can up the defence and rebounding im okay with an overpay for a stopgap 5 until we can offload his salary as a packaged asset and filler if need be until koloko comes around or we get… Um yeah, sorry KAT lol

Anyone surprising by this wasn't paying attention last season. They barely beat bad teams, and lost to good ones. The spacing was bad as well. For anyone that can, go back and watch the game vs the Clippers last season after the deadline. It will look very familiar to what your seeing right now!!
This team needs to bring Dennis off the bench and start Gary, Gary is a play finisher rather than a play maker and Dennis is a career 33% shooter from 3 even if he has a hot start it won’t be continuing like we seen the last 2 games. The ball needs to go through Scottie and Pascal instead of Dennis getting the 11th most touches in the ENTIRE league. Scottie actually knows how to use the PNR not to pad his stats like Dennis but to really get the ball moving getting shooters wide open or hitting P or Jak for easy buckets. Dennis and Malachi can take the bench minutes
Honestly it's really the pressure of playing for a non-usa market. We need several Center pieces to contend and he's the only certified guy.
Jakob is too passive. He can't shoot nor can he shoot freethrows. All he needs to do is be a rim portector, able to finish around the rim and actually get putbacks and be more agressive on the boards. I want to see him averaging at least a double double this season with 1-2 blocks. Set good screens. We have one of the leagues best perimeter defenders in OG so he's not expected to be out there.
Poeltl was useful when he was rebounding all of FVVs misses last year. I still believe Poeltl can anchor the defense. He’s simply not finishing his easy looks. having someone like Scottie setting him up is unusual to him hence his mediocre play. OG returning should help as OG can spread the floor and bail out broken plays. I think Siakam is still the odd man out in this lineup despite his ability to score, as most of his points are converted inside the arc thus making Jakob obsolete at times.

It’s crazy how this guy never developed any kind of shot and go paid so much in the NBA today. I can understand getting paid in the bismack, D Jordan and Howard era but he got paid big money without any kind of shot now.
