Deni calling out the toxic environment in Capital One: “”Gets me angry sometimes, honestly. Playing in your city and having the whole stadium cheering ‘Let’s Go Knicks’ … Not something you’ll see in Europe … This stadium needs to chant ‘Let’s Go DC’, that’s how it needs to be.”
Deni Avdija not a fan of road fans taking over Cap One

We knew it, Ted knew it, that if you decide to go the tanking route, you’re basically fully surrendering the arena to the other team’s fans. DC has a transient fanbase and that story is decades old and maybe some of the older fans can talk about the genesis of how we got here. But ultimately, this is how it’s going to be as this team loses something like 60 games this season. The team is bad, so there isn’t going to be some influx of Wizards fans at the games screaming louder than whoever they’re playing that night. But I appreciate Deni for feeling like I feel, which is that’s a real crappy thing to have to go through, basically playing 82 road games this season.
sure, blame the fans for not wanting to watch the worst franchise in the NBA.
He’s been here 4 years, I’ve been watching them for 20+ years. Just win
If he keeps up 50-40-80 in the coming weeks then this is his problem. Until he’s putting up 20 shots and or 10 assists, why should the fans put in more effort than him.
Then win
The real problem here is that the Wizards have been bad for so long in general that many people that should be fans follow other teams, and those that are have supported good players and bad, had belief and put their own money into the team, are staying away.
Deni doesn’t need to remain positive, he needs to maintain perspective and realize that he’s shouldering the failures of a franchise, and that it’s not a comment about him or his teammates
Capitol One turned into FedEx Field…Leonsis is Snyder-Lite
There are a ton of Knicks fans, everywhere they go. This is not uncommon. Likely more in DC cause the team is tanking, yeah.
כפרע על דני
הוא לא יודע שאין דבר כזה קהל נאמן בNBA חח
זה לא אירופה,שהקהל אוהב את הקבוצה בנפש ובדם
Welcome to DC. Skins games are particularly brutal.
Maybe if you won some games during your 4 years here you would get some fan support
He’s got a point imo. It’s frustrating as a *fan* going to a wiz Celtics game and getting heckled in your home arena. I can’t imagine what it’s like if you’re a player that only does that for a living. That being said, there’s a reason it’s like that. It’s because we stink and we have no history of success or tradition. That part is on the front office.
Why waste money to see these bums
DC will always be like that unless we have some success.
1/3rd of the fans are wiz fans, 1/3 are opposing team fans, and 1/3rd are Chad and Bryan from Lincoln Nebraska who got their tickets from work and only went because they’re trying to bang the non-profit girls they met on hinge
It’s a transient city
I was recently looking at Wizards tickets, and I can’t believe how much they cost, considering how bad this team is. If you want to sit anywhere in the lower level, you’re looking at $300+ if you include the bullshit $60 fees on every ticket. Sure, you can get relatively cheap tickets for seats in the 400’s, but I don’t wanna sit all the way up there. It’ll cost $1,000 to take my family of four to a game. This team just isn’t worth it. Not even close.
There are a lot of things to take note of, with the current situations with crime going on in the city people don’t wanna go to games/ feel safe going to them. Rod Wave (a rapper) just held a concert at capital one arena November 12th and over 200 cars were broken into… 2017, and 2018 are the last time our arenas were truly somewhat packed. No to menu they’re in a first year of a rebuild, common fans aren’t going to pay money to see a losing team play unless it’s against an team like the Warriors, Lakers, suns, Celtics etc..
Leader Deni arc LETS GO
This team has been irrelevant for decades and has NEVER built a culture for the city to get behind. We’re currently the 10th biggest market in the NBA. There’s no reason why we shouldn’t have the same success as the Celtics, 76ers, and Heat of the world.
It just goes to show how incompetent this ownership group has been
