I started on Wemby for ROY after a couple of weeks then started leaning towards Chet bout a week ago. Now Chet is ahead. This is going to be a fun race. If stats are comparable then Chet wins easy Wemby has to put up bigger numbers with a losing squad.
I am concerned with Pop's strategy with Wemby, putting him on bench on stretches in every quarter, and most costly was when he put Wemby on the bench in the fourth quarter. In a game like this when Memphis is depleted, and also Spurs being young and not having a go-to-player or a defensive presence outside of Wemby, Wemby needs more playing time. Play him 40 minutes, and make him attack with interior more, not just shooting jumpers, because those haven't been going in the last few games.

3 Things Spurs need:
– make Wemby learn mid jumper or sky hook
– make Wemby stop taking way too many 3pt, he is bad from it
– Dont stop playing 4th quarter
If you do that, you will be unstopable
Its another tough blown lead for Spurs but the NBA is a game of runs, its not football. Volkswagon is coming along nicely and appears to love the game which is most important. They can a add a very good player next to him next season hopefully with their top 5 pick.

I watched the entire game and one thing seems strange to me: even in the absence of Vassel, there seems to be no systems built around Wenbanyama.
Everyone just seem to play according to the opportunities of the moment and for himself with no plan whatsoever.
They scored each time some room is made for Victor to cut to the basket and get a high ball… There's got to be something to learn here, no ? Whatever happened to basic pick&roll ?

Of course this spurs team is young an inexperienced but from what I have seen so far they need to focus their offense on getting good paint looks for Wemby EVERY TIME down the floor. That is where he is by far the most effective
Wemby takes too many tough 3s and the guards run too many plays for themselves instead of focusing on getting good looks for Wemby
Wemby's offence will be much stronger if he can average assist 5-6 times per game. Got to make the defender guess more.

why aren't they just making a simple system even I could come up with where wemby cuts to the basket and you just have to throw it up for him to score, or just get him in the post or in the pnr, he's gonna get good opportunities instead of having to make his own shots without any system whatsoever, he is not good at scoring on his own, his efficiency proves it, make him catch lobs and work on mismatches which he has against pretty the entire league
