Media talking heads will argue that he has Book, and if Brad ever gets healthy “a superteam” to go along with it. It’s clearly unfair but it’s what’s gonna happen.
Plus they love there darling Jokic so he’ll probably get it unless the Suns thoroughly beat them out in seeding.

Can’t be below .500 and MVP. So now is when it gets brought up

If the suns had a top 5 record in the league I’d agree. But not at 7-6.

This is why we traded for him

Go on a winstreak and the narrative will start. HOWEVER!!!! The same thing may plague him that plagued Book, who gets the credit for the team success, book or kd

While I would like to agree with you and KD has been incredible these last few games, there’s no way in hell I would choose him over Jokic at this point in time.
Jokic is averaging nearly a triple double with nearly 30 points per game (29.7 / 14.1 / 9.2).
Jokic also edges KD out on the TS front (64.9%).
In terms of advance metrics, Jokic is ahead in BPM (14.9 vs 5.9), in PER (33.9 vs 25.2), in Win Shares per 48 (.329 vs .189), and in Net Rating (+18 vs +7).
And Jokic is doing all that while playing less minutes than KD (34.8 vs 36.3).
Finally, Jokic has his team ahead of the standings, while KD and Phoenix currently sits at 7/8 in the West.
Going back, I think KD should be in the MVP talks once Phx gets to top 3 in the West. But I won’t put him on top of the current Jokic.

Suns fans can’t even admit KD is the MVP of the Suns…

Record. It’s all that is holding him back from the convo at this point.
But as far as winning it, the modern NBA is all about stat stuffing so it won’t matter. Any player that doesn’t get a shit ton of rebounds doesn’t have a very good shot

The silver lining of this disastrous start to the season is KD officially became a Sun in my eyes. Over the shell shock and he steadied the team when we needed it the most

If he isn’t in the conversation now it’s absolutely ridiculous

Better than Curry.
