Memphis isn’t good at protecting the paint lol. They’re dead last in the league at opponents points in the paint.
For me, this is just a "load management game". They're playing but they only use like 40-60% energy since this is the first game of a back to back. The idea is that it's better to lose than be at risk of getting injured. That's why the league should eliminate back to back games. Whenever there are B2B games, players are just hesitant to give their best.
A win is a win, however, I hope the team could learn a lot from this.

A Celtics lack of effort where they try to pull it off at the end? No, you don't say so…😂 That's how they play their games. That's how they play their playoff series'. The Celtics don't have any dog in them. Rremember last year they couldn't win a game against the Orlando Magic the whole season 😂. Bucks are winning the East.

I did not see the Celtics cheat or bribe their way to victory, John. They deserved to win because they did just enough to win. You not liking how they did it does not invalidate it.

This is the first night of a back-to-back (both road games)… This is supposed to be a scheduled loss. I give them a pass
It's a bit unfair that Porzingis is only mentioned once here as "Porzingis makes a good play" and isn't included in the list of highlights despite 6 blocks and 26 points including clutch free throws, a game winner and a game-sealing block
Classic playing down to the competition. Problem with that is, you don't get into a rhythm. If anything, I expect the bench to come in the game hungry. Sam was that guy but damn, can someone else contribute?

I wouldn't say they didn't deserve to win. We have so much talent that sometimes we're going to beat teams on low effort nights. A 50 percent Celtics effort can beat some teams giving us 100 percent. It won't work all the time though and you definitely don't want to see it become a habit.
It seemed like the Celts were playing and waiting for Memphis to screw up.

No mention of the awful officiating? Even the commentators talked about it. It was down right wrong. And those three refs should be suspended. Yet the Cs pulled out a win on an 8 on 5 game of street ball.

Love the dog comparison in the last segment. Made me think of how my dog when we play fetch runs 15 ft past the ball b/c he runs way to fast to slow down😂
I loved that we won! Whether we disereved the win or not doesnt matter but struggling and winning is the catalyst to success! These games we would have lost in seasons past.
Memphis is one of the worst teams, but I feel they will be making the playoffs, they will turn it around once the team comes back, and I can already tell they are getting better.

Rough win. The lack of boxing out and giving up a boat load of offensive rebounds just kills me.
Ugly win. It looked like they took their opponents lightly, which is disturbing. Positives were Porzingis and the play of the top 3 off the bench. They'll need more consistent effort to go all the way.
