There’s a way for this team to be a serious contender. Not an easy or seamless one, but there’s a scenario where they can. Given the amount of our guys are guards and/or non threats offensively, Kerr will need to be amazing at minutes distribution.

Some things have to change somewhat too. I think Klay can be fine offensively, not sure about his defense honestly. He looks very slow out there.

About Klay’s offense, just stop isoing or posting up. Stop dismissing Steph in semi transition situations to bring up the ball by yourself. He can’t dribble or create any sort of separation against average defenders. Just play within the system. Steph and Cp3 will create shots for himself.

It’s not entirely on him since teammates look for him when the clock is running down and Steph does this weird thing he does where he won’t even try to get the ball(believe he does it to involve his teammates, maybe too much imo. Saric looked visibly confused in the 1st today and it ended in a turnover once).

Use him in off ball actions. Give him all kinds of handoffs. Draw plays for him to get open. Hell, give him a occasional postup if his defender ain’t great. But when the clock is running down, don’t go “where’s Klay”? Klay is not there.

Klay isoing with few seconds is asking for him to turn the ball over or chuck whatever at the rim and half ass his transition defense. Let Steph create. Or Wiggs, Jk… Whoever. I’ll take a pick & pop for Looney to get a open midrange shot over seeing Klay get blocked once more time. It gets tiring and kind of sad. His body language is terrible too.

After the first period where they were force feeding him, Klay played within the offense pretty well. I’m slightly optimistic given our bench play and Wiggins coming back to life. A W vs Phoenix would be big, especially to boost the moral. Hope GP2 is back to stop Dbook.

Klay had some head scratchers during the first half but he settled down well.

Wins will follow every time Wiggs and Klay look human.

  3. shanks_you

Almost forgot how a win felt like, we could get used to this.

Would love to say Klay and Wiggs look to turn a corner but I’ll take it slow on that.

  4. GypsySpit

I’ve learned to avoid post-game threads and posts in this sub after losses, but I’m sure ya’ll have been super patient about Klay and haven’t been talking crazy like trading him or anything.

Happy that losing streak is over though.

  5. lordfifth1212

How did we only have 77 shots, that’s crazy, lol, only 8 turn overs too.

Yes they did get 16 OB, but that means they get more shots not that we yet less, 77 is low

  6. GivesCredit

So glad to see our team put up good numbers and play cohesive. Brings a tear to my eyes

  7. busybee919

Would have liked to see Wiggins with so more looks in the 2nd half

  8. Everyone was on point today! Low team turnovers, great effort and making our open shots. If wiggs and Klay play like this every game we’re running it back.

  9. SeekingSignificance

The physicality Steph had to deal with tonight was maddening

  10. DrewBHyphy

FINALLY A HOME WIN 🥹🥲, I used to pray for times like these

  11. deliciousballsack

The chemistry between CP3 and Steph is growing exponentially man, every time steph gets open off ball , cp finds him. masterclass performance by both

  12. Ball_ChinnedKid

My man Wiggins missed 3 dunks tonight. Otherwise great game from him.

  13. Klaythesist save your essays. Lets see bro be consistent for a couple weeks

  14. UncleTawm

Even the rockets on the second night of a b2b are a battle, tough league

  15. BallzMcVinegar

Put Steph in the ice bath. He has a long week ahead of him.

  16. Itezguatitez

S/O to Brandin Podziemski. Every single play making the right decision and hustling for rebounds like a mad man. You can tell he’s always looking to pass/screen to Steph. That’s usually a pretty good idea. I don’t know how you manage his minutes with Gp2 back, but he needs to play 15+ minutes no matter what. I believe he’ll only get better and start hitting and shooting more with consistent minutes. I’d love to see more of TJD too but that’s a discussion for another day.

Thoroughly impressed with the win, I hope this win means the start of a winning run because we desperately need to rack up a few wins and improve our position in the standings this season. Curry and Paul are my MVPs for tonight’s game.

  18. bigbenis2021

some great defense from klay tonight. obviously it’s nice he got his first 20 point game but i hope this means he’s at least more engaged in d from now on.

  19. c0gvortex

Good win, no complaints. CP3 won us this game tbh

Everybody played well but I think the team would benefit greatly by adding a 7 foot body to deal with these big men.. even just someone who can burn 6 fouls and get physical would be huge

  20. AffectionateSoup24

We won a game with Zach Zarba and Marat Kogut reffing 😭

    CHRIS PAUL MASTERCLASS TONIGHT.

  22. CarryOnUptheMorning

Steph is still insane Klay looked better Wiggins was not awful CP3 looked good Saric Moody Podz Kuminga all looked good We Won happy days keep it up.

  23. StinkmeanerIV

    THE LLLLLLARRIORS ARE NO MORE!!!

Klay played well tonight! KLAYMEN 🙏 Steph wanted to get other guys going early + he got mugged & mauled all night and still gave them a 32 piece lol. The bench continues to be productive (s/o to big Saric especially), you love to see it!

We just needed to get the stench of losing out of the Chase Center tbh 😭

  24. sumchinesewill

Chris Paul probably had his best game tonight. Controlled the pace, hit timely shots and found the open cutters and shooters.

  25. TheScienceNamesArgon

Having guards that don’t the ball over frequently is an odd feeling.

  26. Intelligent-Bid-6645

It feels so weird to cheer for Chris Paul but we got him. Thanks Point God 🙏🏼

  27. Spirited-Sea-4047

would’ve been cool to see more TJD but overall nice win

  28. WisdomCow

I feel compelled to write a bunch about JK, cause I just think way too many people don’t get it. Outside of his final foul/tech (a BS tech, I add), he had a good night.

He’s learning. You don’t perfect moves and counter-moves in practice. The game does not slow down for you overnight. He gets his number called with the second unit 2-5 times a game, and I am certain he is told to do his best to get a shot off unless he time to pass out. If you pay attention, you can recognize some of the learning going on.

Honestly, he is still recognizing when to do what moves. The Game has not slowed down enough yet for him to do counter-moves. Whether the shot goes in is far less important in these moments than whether he learns something and grows because of it.

This is why it is hard to groom young players in a win-now mentality. JK has been showing he is carrying his load and providing enough to justify the learning process, often coming out ahead.

I have honestly never been more optimistic about his future. He’s still years away, but he is demonstrating real progress, IMO.

  29. mattjchin

Dario is a baller and a great rebounder. What a game from him tonight.

  30. IsThisMe8

I’m surprised Reggie Bullock doesn’t get more minutes and it seems like nothing has changed for FVV if he’s still playing 40 minutes a game.

Now that Wiggs and Klay are in a better rhythm, I hope Steph starts out more aggressive with his shot to start. Also, Wiggins has been looking really good defensively, fighting through screens and making a lot of contests.
