How the Indiana Pacers and Tyrese Haliburton had a historic night and scored 157 (!) points in a win

The Indiana Pacers took down the Atlanta Hawks in a ridiculous basketball game that featured 309 points scored. How did this all happen? And how did Tyrese Haliburton play so well? Host Tony East breaks it all down, including the many franchise records set on Tuesday night. He also discusses the Pacers winning their In-Season Tournament group, their poor defense, who stepped up in the fourth quarter, and more.

  1. Is Mathurin turning into just a physically stronger Chris Duarte? He's fading fast. Where would be be without Heild? We would have lost this game without him for sure.

  2. This is the first game that I can remember in which the Pacers won that Andrew Nembhard didn't play in….

  3. This defense will likely have to be addressed next year. I wouldn’t be against a move but I wouldn’t reach or gamble. If this is a high intensity growth year for the young core to build together and take some post season lumps – I’m fine with that.

  4. Pacers have been so exciting to watch. As long as we give a good effort on D. Our Offense clicking will get us the win. Hali was fantastic down the stretch. Turner had some good stops as well. I was happy to see them bounce back and close that one out. Pacers keep developing these young guy's. As they keep improving, we're going to be racing to the Finals! 👏

  5. It amazes me that people are just now having this realization that Bruce and Ben combo DOESNT WORK! Both Bruce and Ben need the ball as much as the other does. No, that’s not saying they’re these ball dominant players, but they both attack in similar ways. Both can attack off the bounce. And both have good play making. The Pacers best lineup will always be

    Hali/Buddy/Ben/Walker/Turner

Yes Walker hasn’t played yet but out of those starters, which one is going to bring the intensity defense and hustle? Who is gonna get down and dirty? Walker can help guard out on the perimeter and he is someone we can rely on to actually sacrifice his body to rebound since Myles loves prance around the arc like the soft cotton ball that he is.

Let Bruce run the second unit and he niesmith be one of the first off the bench. He’s has well earned a starting spot if you asked me but definitely to be one of the first off the bench. Matter of fact, if we didn’t have Buddy, I believe Neismith would be starting in the backcourt. Gives more switching capabilities with him out there. OBi ain’t it. Sure had a nice game tonight but he cannot defend. He helped the game in some ways with him cutting. But he cannot defend. As much as everyone wants to see a thunderous dunk, I just don’t believe he is someone who should be getting minutes. Nwora is a better defender, shooter and ball handler than Obi is. Having Nwora size/length would ACTUALLY help the pacers for defense purposes. Obi might be 6’9, but he sure as shit doesn’t play big at all.

Ben Shep playing for a few minutes was nice. He is showing he will at some point be in the rotation. But why the fuck is Ben in the rotation and not Walker. It just boggles my mind. Walker is a better player than obi is right now and it’s not even a question. Anyone who says otherwise only says it because NYK media (NEW YORK) wil make anything into a big deal. Ala quickly and grimes. Thought they were supposed to be up next and take these gigantic leaps and lead a new version of Knicks. No. NY will hype anyone to try to rebuild themselves. Obi can’t defend. Can’t rebound. Isn’t a shooter. Isn’t a creater for himself or others. Good at cutting, yes. But we need more than what obi can offer. It’s fairly evident and obvious that what we need is on our bench. And an easy switching would help

  6. Done with this team if buddy continues to start and continues to get more minutes than Mathurin. Im fine with obi not starting but how does jarace still not get any pt? Rick doesn’t care about developing players. Just cares about getting wins now at the expense of developing our players just so we have a shot at the play in

  7. Buddy got destroyed on defense not sure how he was an improvement as a starter. Wed be having a different conversation if hali didn’t go off in the 3rd
