One of the most surprising teams to start the season has been the Houston Rockets. After a 0-3 start the Houston Rockets have been on a 6 game winning streak. Including a blowout win against the LA Lakers, and most recently a win against the defending NBA champion Denver Nuggets. While it’s still very early in the season it’s clear a combination of coaching, new veteran editions, and growth from young players on the roster has led to a start that’s been significantly better than expected from this group.
Alperen Sengun has taken a leap in year 3. Proving me wrong and showing why he should’ve been a top 10 pick. Despite his unconventional play style for modern basketball, he’s been super effective and fun to watch on tape. In my opinion he’s been the Rockets best player.
Jalen Green has looked good. He’s had his ups and downs on tape. And the numbers haven’t taken the leap many expected them to. But he looks promising for the most part. The three point shot is getting better. And the playmaking is getting better even if the numbers don’t show it.
Dillon Brooks has been the X Factor for this team. Proving a lot of people (including myself) wrong. Showing he’s capable of being a reliable 3 and D wing, with improved shot selection compared to his Memphis days.
Fred VanVleet has been the point guard this Rockets team has needed since the Harden trade. Jabari Smith Jr has been solid even if he isn’t taking the leap many expected him to. And I still believe in the upside of Amen Thompson to be their best player long term, even with the slow start, and ankle injury that’s limited him to just four games.

the rockets have enough young assets to make some moves to make this rebuilding complete. but they don't need to rush, specially now that they playing great.
Props to you for admitting where you were wrong. I think everything adds up for the improvement we're seeing. Their defense and ball movement on offense are absolutely sustainable. And while he's been solid, Jabari Smith hasn't even began to get going more. I expect that will change over the season and think Amen Thompson returning will help them.
A lineup of FVV, Amen Thompson, Tate, Dillon and Tari is near impossible to score on.
Sengun does NOT need to be a starting center he's a power forward to me need some rotational pieces to take the bangs down low
