Tyrese Maxey has been everything the Philadelphia 76ers needed after the James Harden trade, to the point that it’s almost like they didn’t even need him in the first place.

The synergy between Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid has unlocked new aspects to both of their games, and the 76ers have been reaping the benefits. Joel Embiid continues to play at an MVP level, and Tyrese Maxey looks more and more like a star with every passing game.

I took a look at how Maxey has shades of Steph Curry in his game, and why the NBA world isn’t prepared for just how good Tyrsee Maxey might become.

  1. i expected maxey to take a leap this season but definitely wasn’t expecting this big of a leap his scoring from all 3 levels has been good but the massive strides he has taken a playmaker especially in the pick and roll with embiid has what really impressed me the most

  2. I kinda feel like James Harden's lack of adaptability had enough to do with Maxey being forced into a spot up role that it's not all on doc, but the nick nurse upgrade is real

  3. Sixers still need a backup point guard to relieve maxey when he is resting. I think maxey with his current progression since the draft projects him to be a top 3 point guard ever and I think he will reach it. His speed and range of shot making is rose combined with young dame 🤷‍♂️ just needs to be more shifty with his handles and improve his playmaking

  4. Signing Nick Nurse was really a great move for Philly. Hoping he can make the adjustments come playoff time.

  5. Alex imma need a video on fake wannabe allstar, next point god in the making Tyrese Haliburton soon please!

  6. The sixers need to get another high powered guard or forward to help out embid and maxey , they have a bad habit of having one or 2 great players, and expecting them to challenge other teams 4 or 5 great players, and it's always a mis match, look how they did Dr. Julius Erving as great as he was. A few more great players and doc would have won more chips in his tenure with the sixers. Been a sixers fan for many years. l hope they don't do the same with maxey and embid , they are loyal and deserve great help so they don't get worn out without a legitimate chance to get a chip.? Real Philly fan for years

  7. I’m gonna sound crazy but when I watch him, to me he looks like a mix of Steph (movement and shooting and the way he finishes) and harden (the way he creates space off the dribble and his burst to the rim)

  8. With such combo of speed & muscle Maxey no need to be an advanced ball handler to beat the defense one-on-one.
Not sure if he contributes to playoffs w/o proper team D though

  9. If you asked me before the trade, but after the Holiday deal, I would've told you Philly would be in the conversation for 3/4 along with Miami (I put them there just because they made the finals last year, but these two were behind Milwaukee and Boston for me). Now, I think there's a case for them to be the #2 seed in the East. Milwaukee has a lot of problems to figure out, not the least of which is an aging roster around their prime age superstar. Boston has been as advertised, but I think the Sixers could challenge them, and they could go on a deep run this year, if Embiid finally lives up to his potential and Maxey can maintain this energy over the course of the long season.

  10. I honestly dont think this has EVER been an indictment on how good Harden was for this team. In my eyes, its ALWAYS BEEN ABOUT DOC RIVERS! Doc should never have another coaching gig in this league. His time has passed him

  11. 😊 the young man loves the game and that one reason a lot of his training shows in his talent. Maxey Loves the game and am glad for him that he fell to the right team in Philly. Mr. Maxey is going to win some rings in Philly.

  12. All NBA level season if he can keep it up. If he can finish at around 25-7-5 on over 40% on the 3, 48% from the field, over 90% at the FT line. Definitely All NBA. Underrated very good Assist to turnover ratio as well as a player having full-time ball responsibility.

  13. All the tanking and their best draft pick to build around Embiid was a late first round pick 21th pick of the NBA draft of 2020 after going 3 years to the playoffs
