  1. I think its a combination of yeah don't poke the bear… but Pop and Kawhi went to war together and brought titles to San Antonio… he saw him grow from a utility young rookie to top 5 player…

Do we really got to ask why he did what he did?

  2. "Poking the bear" LITERALLY MEANS: "deliberately provoke or antagonize someone, especially someone more powerful than oneself."
Kawhi Leonard is a beast. Gregg knows this because he played for the Spurs for a while, and he knows what fuels that guy! It's not helping the home team to instigate an opposing player, guys!

  3. What Pop doesnā€™t understand is, KL is still part of ā€œhisā€ family but not part of the fans family and itā€™s their right to boo him for that if they please. Itā€™s a dif set of rules. I have zero issues doing what he did, but he is only thinking about how he feels and thatā€™s it

  4. They should grab every single spurs plastic fan that was booing Kawhi instead of being glad for seeing him again on their court, and smack them open handily while wearing the 5 rings Pop got their ungrateful asses.

  5. That's disgusting for him to think he can control everyone just because he has a military background. Dude is a narcissist

  6. Pop just poked the bears!!! The fans… There is nothing right with what Pop did there. Refs should've called a delay of game, or a technical foul and at minimum the league should fine him for his actions boo. Are we allowed to boo Lebron

  7. "Donā€™t poke the bearā€

If you dont get what he means by that then you never been competitive at anything lol. Also why does Gregg Popovich look like that guy from the Saw movies lol?

  8. He talks about class
Yet, he treats the media like shit for 30 years. Whereā€™s your class Pop. Hypocrite

  9. He wants class? He is a total POS to most reporters, is that the class he is talking about?. Telling the fans what to do? STFU

  10. What bear is he talking about. Kawhi is an old player who is washed. Anyway, no one listened to him. THEY FANS STILL CONTINUED BOOING. ITS BASKETBALL, LET THE FANS CHEER AND BOO , THATS WHAT THEY CAME AND PAID FOR. TO WATCH AND GET ENTERTAINTED !!! Get real !

  11. lol they are 3-12 and he never told the crowd to stop when he was playing against Lebron or Kobe or Shaq. Heā€™s an egomaniac and loves to tell people how to behave, think, and feel.

  12. Poppovich a goofy so now its disrespectful to boo the opposing teams star player? This is soft as hell and if pop felt like that why he never did it to kobe, shaq, jordan, lebron, curry like come on this makes no sense

  13. Guys, Pop isn't really a "good guy" so much as he is a winner!

Stopping the booing had very little to do with sportsmanship, and everything to do with the hopes that Kawhi would miss free throws/shots! šŸ˜‚

At least Pop kept it a buck

  14. After booing Kawhi the result : Player Of The Game 26 pts. 4 assists 2 steals
And the Spurs got trashed to the garbage can šŸ˜

  15. Yeah sorry Pop but it's not the coaches job to address the audience and tell them what to do. I get the sentiment but it's silly. Not only that, then to give such a non-response afterwards. If you're going to make such a big statement like that, explain your logic properly. Don't poke the bear is just a cryptic answer that 99% of people don't get.

  16. Fairly disingenuous. How many other players have Spurs fans booed, and for how many of those did Pop take the mic? Uh, huh. Thought so.

  17. Youā€™re the one who poked the bear by telling the fans not to boo who are the ones who pay your salary perhaps They might start boycotting your games. The fans have a right to boo theyā€™re the ones who paid the money to attend the games and who are you to tell them what they can, and cannot do just coach and shut up. Donā€™t bite the hands that feed you.

  18. I like how he talks about the fans having class, but the way heā€™s treated media (even now for example) is not classy lol

  19. Leberal for sure, but the league has gotta draw the line somewhere.
1st scott the ref ejection CP3, now Popovich.
