  1. Team is concerned about player’s health due to a family death and outward acts on social media. They require him to go to therapy. He doesn’t want to go but does eventually. Says it wasn’t “working”, although from what he says it sounds like he was on the first session potentially. Therapist provided by the teams tells him he can’t play in training camp due to what’s going on (which would seem to denote a serious problem if a mental health professional feels it’s necessary for you to not pursue work at the moment). He leaves, they say “Well you can’t do what we ask and obviously no one will trade for you now. Bye.”

I understand navigating your mental health concerns at your own pace and with your methods, but therapy is a tool that is important, and is often seen as unnecessary by those who truly need it.

They were right he has no trade value since no one is picking him up.

  3. sounds like he says he worked out for either the Raptors or Rockets before he stops himself.

I can see Kai’s thought process… I can also see the team’s pov. Mental health is complex and we have barely scratched the surface on how to treat it. It’s not like allopatric medicines for physical ailments where you pop a pill or have surgery and things get fixed. Therapy depending on the practitioner lies in the gray area of pseudo science and science and depending on who you consult approaches and results can be vastly different.

i mean, who was gonna trade for him lmao

If they had no evidence for drug use or whatever he’s accused of, then banning him from training camp just means they don’t want him on the team, don’t think he’s good enough. If that’s the case, then I agree with Kai requesting a trade.

If they did have evidence, then it makes sense why the team waived him.

Either way, pretty crazy that they just waived the 19th pick in the draft from just a couple years ago. If you have that little confidence to develop a player, what’s even the point of keeping your picks and drafting.

  7. He’ll be back on a team soon he didn’t do anything that bad what teams are willing to tolerate depends on talent and skill level I guess they saw him as expendable but another team will 100% pick him up after a while it wasn’t that serious

Most importantly, seems like he’s doing MUCH better here compared to whatever the fuck that was over the summer, literally a different person from those IG live videos

He’ll get picked up as long as he manages to get conditioning levels back to normal

Video makes me feel better about Kai’s future. Seems like he’s admitting he was being immature and emotional. Some of those tweets had me worried about him tho lol

  12. Charlotte is a shitty franchise this kid need help and they isolated him then cut him for wanting to hoop
