[Beer] Jimmy Butler when RJ Barrett was the primary defender: Zero points on 0-for-6 shooting and zero assists. Butler scored 23 points on 7-for-8 shooting when matched up against non-RJ Knicks last night.

  1. Hart and Grimes tried their best all game, but the size difference Butler has makes all the difference. Butler just kept setting up shop in the low post and picked them apart. Any resistance from them usually resulted in a whistle.

Thibs likes to put RJ on the best wing later in games, which is a great look to close out games. RJ’s size and physicality made it hard for Butler to fish for his calls and it made him settle for bad looks.

i think every aspect of his game has improved over last year (regular season). but the defensive improvement is the biggest surprise. the falloff in his defense from two seasons ago was baffling to me.

  3. Seemed like rj was getting the hand up in his face and he’s long. Jimmy had the higher arc shot that wasnt falling. Although the last shot of the game was on point, just in and out. We’ve been on the other end of those so many times fuck em.
