I know the saints will cheer me up tomorrow…. Right?
I hate back to backs fr
Earned that L. Just a brutal loss
Willie had some terrible lineups out there tonight. Terrible play off the inbound at the end of the game.
Missed freethrows
We lost to a g-league team without their two best players. There is zero excuse for this team to be this offensively inept.
Fooled myself into thinking we would beat the Jazz, my fault.
Resting Zion on the b2bs will be pointless when we miss the playoffs cause they went 1-12 in these games.
Just embarrassing man. Jose to end the 3rd. Larry to start the 4th. Herb doing his worst Vince Carter impression while Hawkins is wide open in the corner. Kelly Olynyk getting 2 practice shots late in the 4th for no reason.
Just me or was the Dyson play not a travel? Terrible play to begin with but on replay he didn’t lift both feet.
Give Nance the Garrett Temple role and play Cody more
I wasn’t watching. Can someone tell me how we lost? Looked like we were in firm control
Too many doomsdayers and fire Willie chatter on here tonight. That was fucking rough, but considering who we were missing and the circumstances – combined with just straight up missed looks, we just have to live with this L.
We can pull out all the b2b excuses we want, but Utah tried to hand that game to us. Double our turnovers and we still couldn’t put it out of reach. Good teams win those games.
Ugh, Jose and Larry need to get their shit together.
Rested Z without having a CJ or Trey available, lesson learned.
Ban back to backs
The Pelicans didn’t respect their opponent tonight. It’s clear they thought they could come out with 85% effort and walk out with a win but Utah has pride. They didn’t allow that. Will Hardy had his team better prepared than Willie and they just played harder. Also this was probably the worst game Herb and JV have played all season. JV at least probably should have been rested along with Zion
Don’t get me wrong, I love Nance. But that felt like 11:55 too much :(.
Literally everyone except maybe Hawkins had an off night
This was an easily winnable game smh. Quit icing out Hawk when he’s hot
It’s tough to win in the NBA when you only have one guy who can consistently create his own shot surrounded by a bunch of non shooting threats
With no CJ or Trey, when Zion is out, it is pretty tough to win especially if Jonas is going to have a bad night. Hawkins tried his best to be the 2nd option tonight. Would have loved the W but tough loss. Thankfully the Jazz won’t impact any standings end of season
They played dead the whole game, back to backs suck. Shit just look at the 1st Kings game they came out like shit. Monday should have a lot more energy.
I do wonder when we were terribly
Offensively all night did willie stick with Cody zeller all night . Wtf ? Cody zeller compliments the game when the offence is clicking and only then
I mean we literally played with two offensive players lol, this is the problem with the roster we have way to many defence players, if we get an injury to any of them it affects the team majorly, compared to Utah who can still field guys who can shoot even when their top two scorers are out
And also when you’re other superstar is y playing back to back because they’re so scared he’ll get injured
Can someone explain why hawk gets hot then is phased out every game?
Effort was there, but we looked gassed in the 4th. Still have some cleaning up to do offensively. Herb missing that dunk sealed the game I think. And the team from Utah played well. Hawkins is for real though
Some extremely dicey defending towards the end, but so it goes, it’s a road segababa. also you’re pretty much always going to lose when a team hits like 9 consecutive 3s in the 4th 😭 lol
Take it on the chin and learn from it. Back to back in that building was always going to be tough. People who are freaking out don’t follow the nba. Still think we should’ve won when up 11 late in the 3rd but move to monday
Zeller needs to get Nance’s minutes. Larry has been a liability to make negative plays while not doing much positive. Zeller is a solid backup.
Team giving up those b2b wide open 3’s to Olynk killed us along with Nance’s fast break take foul
Dyson is only 20 and is already a top defender in the league. If he needs to put work in to his offensive game but the defense is already elite.
This team in general but especially BI needs to value possessions more. That moving screen hurt.
Idk why they didn’t try to find Hawkins more in the second half. Poor coaching.
Rough
Sadly, this is who the Pels are. They’ll go on a nice win streak against good teams, then shit down their legs against an undermanned, already not good Jazz team.
Don’t give me the “well Zion, Trey, CJ weren’t playing”. Utah was without Lauri AND Clarkson.
I know this subreddit loves to bathe itself in toxic positivity, but seriously…
Willie Green shouldn’t be an NBA coach. Games like this have become *way* too common. Every loss feels more inexplicable than the last.
The Jazz – who fucking suck – were missing their top two scorers and we couldn’t hold on to a 10+ point lead.
Just pathetic.
Hawkins drops 20 in the first half and then has zero shots in the third quarter. Basketball malpractice right there from the coaching staff
– Bro how do we call a timeout so damn late
– why did we let them open for so many threes
– why did larry play for so long despite the mistakes
I’m tired of the rotations y’all. I know it was a B2B without Zion but they didn’t have Markkanen OR Clarkson. This loss is unacceptable.
Willie should be charged with criminal intent for his rotations, starting Nance with Jonas in the 4th was INSANE!
They have been so underutilizing JV. If 3 of your best socrers are missing, and when u’re struggling to score, you still don’t get one of the most skilled center in the league some shots, what’s the point of playing him? He’s a negative at defense anyway. JV always looks frustrated when look for him at low post and I feel bad for him
We’d have won this one 100% if Borrego were making the decisions. But alas, it’s Willie who will be causing us to miss the playoffs again.
These are the games I’m going to remember when we’re scrambling for a play in spot at the end of the season
My best advice is to skip the Jazz games. Take Monday night off and watch football
How the fuck have the Utah Jazz had our number for the better part of two decades…. It’s unbelievable.
the difference in this game is 3 pt attempts. its simple math. the pelicans need to be shooting at least 40 3s a game. feel like most of our losses the difference is just 3 pt volume.
I Just don’t get why we can never beat the Jazz. We could win every other game and we’ll still lose to them. It’s like we’re cursed because they have our name or something
BI was playing hero ball all 2nd half while Hawkins was floating around the 3 point line. Tried to carry when it was clear he was having an off night by his standards. He can be a capable playmaker when he wants to but tonight he just seemed to want to play through all the defenders he was drawing and ignore open shooters.
