The Magic are BACK and the Pistons are NOT…

The Orlando Magic just beat the Boston Celtics and the Denver Nuggets in back to back games and are now sitting at the second seed in the Eastern Conference. Behind great play from Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, and others, the Magic are seemingly ready to break out of their rebuild. Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons are stuck in basketball purgatory despite great play from Cade Cunningham, Ausar Thompson, Jalen Duren, and others. Every other rebuilding team seems to be making progress but them and it may be time to make some tough decisions. Let’s talk about it.

  1. Hold up the Celtics lost to the magic and the hornets ain’t no way bro

  2. You could see the despair on Bogeys face as he sat on Detroits bench again the Pacers. This team has no adults or accountability anywhere. It's just a hodgepodge of guys who don't really seem to fit together

  3. I don't follow Detroit at all but I've heard nothing but doubts and such for K Hayes. Is he just not an NBA player and they're holding on because they picked him high?

  4. Cade has dropped very far down my 2021 re-draft. 1. Scottie 2. Sengun 3. Mobley 4. Franz 5. Cam Thomas 6. Green 7. Trey Murphy 8. Jalen Johnson 9. Cade 10. Suggs

  5. I want to see what Troy can do once Dec. 15 comes around. If he doesn't make any moves that notably make the Pistons any better than he should probably be in the hot seat to lose his job.

  6. Over this winning streak, the Magic are 16th in offense. So it's already improving. Paolo is shooting incredibly well. Suggs has started to make threes. Once Franz's 3pt shot starts falling the offense should look even better.

I've watched several of their recent games. They run good stuff. I agree that they need more shooters, but with how dominant their defense is if they can be league average on offense they could finish in the top 4 and maybe even win a playoff series.

  7. Detroit has a common trend of poor spacing. Dont forget the josh smith, Drummond and greg monroe experiment💀

  8. If I were Tom Gores (owner of the pistons) I would keep Troy for this next draft and then move on from him. Troy has proven to be pretty good at finding talent in the draft but bad at pretty much everything else. Hire someone who can take the talent the pistons have built up over the last few years and use their cap space and/or the trade market to surround them with solid, complimentary players.

  9. The coaching issues sound a lot like Stephen Silas. We had the same questionable rotation and iso offense on the rockets last year.

Silas is the lead assistant, so he probably controls a lot of the offense right now.

  10. When the pistons last won a game, James Harden was technically still a 76er and it was October… being a pistons fan must be rough right now

  11. I made a post under a piston game yesterday for pistons fan to try to explain whats wrong or what i see with the pistons vs. Orlando. If you watch orlando games you will see ever guy cheering and supporting one another. Every interview orlando players are making it known they genuinely LOVE one another and all are very close. Every single guy. They talk about it anytimes there's a mic in their faces. The entire team. When i watched the pistons game i didnt get that same feel. As a matter of fact i saw plays where ivey almost demanded the ball from hayes almost as if he doesnt trust him. I also saw the play where asuar Thompson made the poster dunk and his teammates on the bench half a** celebrated. I noticed that instantly because as a magic fan if someone get a postor dunk the entire team will be on their feet like cheerleaders cheering their teammate. Its like that every big play. It creates an atmosphere of trust and support and motivate each other to continue doing great. Like magic players know their teammates have their back. I didnt get that same sense from watching Detroit. Which is sad because just like my team the magic, pistons are stacked with talent. But they have egos over there. And if youre a piston fan your probably wont noticed it until you go watch a few orlando games. Because its a totally different vibe. And im not dissing pistons. They are talented and i want them to be great. Just giving insight from the outside looking in.

  12. As an orlando fan i think what the piston need is for orlando to come to town and completely whipp them into next week. That should wake them up. Because after that they will be thinking to themselves that orlando is young just like them and that they too can be just as good if they apply themselves right. They will get to see firsthand what the magic is doing to have success. And it should motivate them to get their act together as a team.
