The losing Luka mins is a bit of an overreaction imo. Five mins into the game and Kidd has been throwing THJ and Powell in there. The moment Lively goes off the defence completely dies
Lackadaisical and soft culture.
I still feel like kyrie running offense would be better for overall team but I doubt that’s gonna happen and Luka is just to much of a pg so at least get kyrie at times but real issue is defense I feel like and coach sucks .. idk why people thought grant and a rookie was gonna save them .. grant wasn’t even always a positive defender with Celtics and his offense is inconsistent
Luka is an amazing talent. But, no team has ever one with a ball dominant player and defense liability. James Harden is a prime example.

No one is stepping up… yea bc they are asleep while Luka dribbles for 15 seconds. Painful to watch… poor ball movement and he takes to many low percentage difficult shots.

I think something that isn’t being mentioned is the lack of rim pressure just due to lacking slashing in the lineups. Offenses with only 1 player that can slash are gonna be stagnant. Point blank period. If Kidd would give Hardy lots of minutes during the Luka/Kyrie solo minutes that problem could be resolved.

Why Luka gets all the blame
He is allowing only 0.9PPP on isolation defence
Once ball goes out of his hand it never comes back to him
Kyrie and other takes impossible shots but they don't pass the ball
He is carrying a worst defensive team
Feel glad that he is still staying with Dallas
Again, plus minus is not an individual stat.
It's a production stat that is DEPENDENT on who you play with, play against and who is replacing you.
All this means is that Luka's minutes have him playing in lineups that are sub optimal. And it is sub optimal because you have the fire-power but none of the defense.
This is literally no different when they were 8-1 and now they went 2-5. Stuff finally evened out with tougher competition and cold shooting.
The only thing to be concerned is that the Mavs cannot seem to be consistent on how they approach a game.

No interior presence, offense nor defense. Can’t stop anyone nor interior pressure to put opposing big men in trouble.

Unfortunately, ball movement in the Luka minutes seems to only come out of double teams.
Clippers were playing a lot of single coverage and Luka was struggling to beat their defenders 1v1 so the offense just got incredibly stagnant and one-dimensional and they didn't even break 90 points.
Where did you come from? Where did you go? Where did you come from, Average Joe?
Players like Kleiber and Finney Smith and even Powell (pre-washed) knew how to compensate for Lukas bad defense, particularly when he got blown by they would “show” enough while not leaving their man completely open for an easy bucket where as now, we’re getting blown by on the perimeter then if someone comes to help there’s a wide open guy for an easy bucket. Grant Williams is slow as hell, just saying…
i think it time for coach kidd to change his starting lineup for sure
J KID needs to step up with motivating his team energyzing it when needed,,he looks to me like a bystander or a depressed fan in 1st row seat.
+/- shouldn't be used individually. it doesn't paint the whole picture. +/- is a good metric for lineups. A player can be stellar, but if he isn't playing with the right teammates, he'll be a minus.
You can’t win whit Powell,Green,Tim,DJJ,Holmes, Kleber,Hardy,Curry and Rookie center on the roster !!! Nico should be fired whit Kidd !!!

Kyrie is not aggressive enough consistently. With all things considered he’s a 2 not a 1. The Luka offense is not going to work without athletic developed wings and a versatile center. Plus Luka needs to play real defense. The defensive coaching is not it
5-out with Maxi didn't do enough offensively because he doesn't really look like a threat in the 3pt line anymore. that matchup against nets, DFS outperformed Maxi. DFS shoots better, brings energy to the team, more physical and more stronger than Maxi.
