JJ was the X factor…. Who is going to step up and fill that void?!? Is the real Question?
Last yr Hawks fans argued that it was either JJ or Griffen on who should get the minute.
The only person keeping Griffin off the floor now is Griffin.
I made a statement in the offseason during Summer league that Quinn wanted to feature AJ and AJ failed to allow himself to be featured. That was AJ's time to assert himself and prove to Quinn he was ready for major min. And he instead played the back role to Bufkin instead.
He continues to do the same thing now. And he continues to bury himself on the bench.
This is his chance again to step out of the shadows and say I want to be a major piece moving forward.
We will see what he does with it.
Offense leaning is an understatement but hey that’s the bed you make when the defensive talent outside center is lacking. If Okungwu can play the 4, they need Bruno.
It was a lack of DJ and OO yesterday. After the Hawks play Milwaukee Dec 2nd, they don't play again until Dec 11, against Denver ! I Mention that because that GAP may be the best thing that can happen to us right now.
That was a clear indication that we are weak in the paint, bringing in a journeyman was effective against CC and O, the hawks should have dominated the paint instead of getting dominated, out rebounded 58 to 43, they scored in the paint 46 -34, O is a PF not a C, moving O to PF should be considered, (don't say the hawks missed shots, we were out rebounded on the offensive glass also 18-11)
The hawks are being dominated in the paint again and that's without prozingus, we get scoring from the perimeter, nothing in the paint offensively or defensively, CC is soft AF, tell that fool to dunk on every shot 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 he missed 8 easy points at the rim or getting his shot blocked
Pick & roll got trae going but henders DJ and most of the team. De'andre and Bogi are probably the only 2 that can play well in both the motion offense and pick and roll. We have to find an option that ends with Trae getting open shots from the top on his 3's after that involves the rest of the team
Wouldn't worry about DJ. He's not wired to play poorly and not give max effort. That tight quad will heel and he'll be back on his a game
