The “Ultimate” Hornets Team

In this series, I assemble what I believe is the greatest team possible for each franchise. In this specific video, we’re looking at the Charlotte Hornets.
5 starters, 5 backups, and 3 rotations players. A total of 13 roster spots on each Ultimate Team. It’s not just about talent, but it’s about building a team that works and gels together.

The game of Basketball has been my passion since I was 5 years old. I grew up as a kid watching my dad’s recorded VHS tapes of playoff games through the 70s and 80s, and collected all the Basketball cards. Something about the game and what it represents just hooked me from a very young age.
My love for the game only continues to grow as time goes on. I love studying and analyzing the game, with an unbiased perspective. Feel free to subscribe, follow me on social media, and celebrate this amazing game and it’s rich history with me!
I post videos every week on NBA history, predictions, hypothetical scenarios and current NBA topics.

  1. Quite frankly, I think this team would dominate the Ultimate Celtics and Lakers…..
NOTE: Btw, my stupid self forgot how the alphabet apparently, and this video was actually supposed to be the HEAT. lmao. My bad. Anyway, expect the Ultimate Miami Heat in the next couple of days.

  2. I can't wait for the ultimate HEAT team

    FIRST TEAM
    PG – Tim Hardaway
    SG – Dwyane Wade
    SF – LeBron James
    PF – Chris Bosh
    C – Alonzo Mourning

    SECOND TEAM
    PG – Jason Williams
    SG – Jimmy Butler
    SF – Glen Rice
    PF – Lamar Odom
    C – Shaquille O'Neal

    ROTATION
    Bam Adebayo
    Ray Allen
    Mike Miller

    HONORABLES
    Jamal Mashburn
    Udonis Haslem
    Rafer Alston
    Jermaine O'Neal
    Gary Payton
    Vashon Leonard
    Chris Anderson
    Ron Seikley
    Steve Smith
    P.J. Brown
    Tyler Herro
    Michael Beasley
    Caron Butler
    Brian Grant
    Brian Shaw
    Antoine Walker

(All I can think of right now)

  3. Charlotte has the full history of the original team before moving to NO is not about oganisation is about the city

  4. If we were to consider players' actual primes and not best performances with the team in focus, Dwight and Kemba, with an injury-free LaMelo and Rosier would easily be title contenders.

All it takes is Orolando Dwight. Crazy how much impact one player and the difference in his primes can have on a team with good pieces.

  5. I understand that you are choosing to go by the linear history, however, just in case you were not aware, the franchise, formerly known as the Charlotte bobcats, actually legally purchased the history of the Charlotte Hornets. Meaning that any time the franchise was in Charlotte. It is legally the history of the current day, Charlotte Hornets anytime they were under the New Orleans banner they are legally the history of the New Orleans pelicans. You can choose to do it this way if you want just know that you were going by Leninger history and not legal history.

  6. The current hornets gained the rights to the history of the franchise from 1988-2002.

Players from that era should’ve been in consideration imo.

  7. It's easy to seperate the Hornets and the Pelicans, all the teams (°2002-…) in New Orleans are part of the history of the Pelicans and all the teams in Charlotte (°1988-2002; 2004-…) are part of the Hornets

  8. 2nd unit seems more fun but these hornets are getting that all time ass kicked so far in the series …

  9. You screwed this one up. Morning and Johnson do belong in this video and I'll tell you why. Far as official NBA history goes, the basketball team that currently plays in new Orleans only kept the history from when they started playing there in 2002. When the pelicans changed their name, they retroactively became an expansion team that began in New Orleans, and the hornets history from 88-2002 moved with the hornets name. Just like none of the Cleveland Browns history belongs to the Baltimore Ravens..

  10. Should pick players played on Charlotte
    Kemba Walker
    Dell Curry
    Glen Rice
    Larry Johnson
    Alonzo Mourning
    LaMelo Ball
    Baron Davis
    Gerald Wallace
    Al Jefferson
    Emeka Okafor
    Kendall Gil
    Stephen Jackson
    Raymond Felton

  11. Let me tell you one thing when you have a team with players like shaq, Kobe, mj, magic etcetera no matter the rotation the team develops its offense and defense by running through those specific players… you disrupt or lose one or two of those players it can disrupt the flow of your whole game plan no matter the rotation… this team not having stand out players but having all solid players who do there job each just well enough and are replacable harder to disrupt that game plan

  12. Good players but man the depth here compared to other franchises is obvious (especially if you don’t include the 90s Hornets)

  13. This needs a revamp. ICYDK, in 2014, the Charlotte Hornets history from 1988 to 2002 was given to the 2004 "expansion" Charlotte team that was formerly the Bobcats and renamed the Hornets after New Orleans relinquished its rights to become the Pelicans. In short, Charlotte's NBA team was retroactively suspended for two years (2002-04), and New Orleans was considered an expansion rather than a relocated team. This was essentially like the Cleveland Browns roster moving to Baltimore while the team itself was inactive for two years. Also, the 'retro' Hornets jerseys the current team wears was from the 1988 to 2002 era.

Personally, I would keep Kemba Walker at PG, replace Terry Rozier with Dell Curry at SG, replace Gerald Wallace with Glen Rice at SF, replace Emeka Okafor with Larry Johnson at PF, and replace Al Jefferson with Alonzo Mourning at C. Off the bench I would have Baron Davis at PG, LaMelo Ball at SG, Gerald Wallace at SF, Al Jefferson at PF, and Emeka Okafor at C. Then the last three players would be Muggsy Bogues, Anthony Mason and Eddie Jones. If some of those players would end up in the ultimate Pelicans team, that would look weird especially with the throwback Hornets pinstripe jerseys.

  14. I don't think this team would be a championship favorite against like…..regular teams let alone ultimate teams
