Still don’t think it’s a question of if he’s a good player or worth the extension, which he is. Even the whole trade in a vacuum is worth it, he’s easily worth the picks we spent.
The problem with this trade is we have a whole plethora of glaring issues and Yak solves only 1 of them, being the lack of a true big. While he’s a great player, he doesn’t solve the spacing issue, the bench issues, the backup C issues, etc. Those issues could have been addressed via the draft and while it’s highly unlikely any of the picks spent on the trade would live up to Yak, they also would have addressed much more of our needs.

He’s also been an elite finisher in the pick and roll. 1.44 points per possession. Only 1 player (Myles Turner) who averages more possessions is finishing more efficiently.
Makes you wonder if they should try to run more pick and rolls with him, given how bad the half court offence is?
