Today’s video we discuss how The Cleveland Cavaliers may have a Donovan Mitchell problem. Do you guys think Mitchell could be the #1 option on an nba championship team? Let me know.

He’s really talented but definitely not a #1 option
If your main guy doesn’t defend you will not win a championship. He’s a great scorer but he have yet to become a 2way both sides of the ball impact player and it doesn’t help that he’s undersized
If I wasn’t a raptors fan I’d say they should try to get OG he’d fit perfectly on that team trying to help their lack of perimeter defense
Ik the cavs got two bad defending guards but you also gotta remember they were in the top 5 best defense last year
W vid fr
Hurts to say this coz I've always seen him as "the guy" but he needs to be a 2 guard for an elite big or small forward, LBJ, MD, Tatum…
Westley Matthew was on Lakers the year Bucks won
He will realize it sooner that he needs to play more defense
Awesome Video Bro!
belt locks on tatum is crazy🤣🤣
Great vid bro, as a cavs fan d Mitch definitely needs to step up defensively but once this cavs team figures things out and see what works best and move from there, championship contenders easily
Great video and excellent analysis! I think that the reason it is so difficult to win with an undersized backcourt or team in general for that matter is energy expenditure. When you are undersized and are matching up with larger players, you have to use more energy to compete than your larger counterpart. Where this really hurts is late in games when everyone is tired. It will be easier to stop the undersized player than the "regular" sized player, it will also be easier for the larger player to score over the undersized player in the same situation. 2011 Heat vs. Bulls ECF comes to mind. Derrick Rose was the MVP but LeBron was 6'9".
All your observations I agree with, with donny being out it spotlights everything you’ve said. I love mitchell but don’t like the lack of assist and boards he gets compared to other same caliber option ones.
I think Strus should be mentioned he’s pretty good at defense and has a finals appearance
He's a scorer that's it a great one at that doesn't mean he's a championship player 🤔💯🏀
His ceiling as the main guy is the 2nd round
I can't believe Berry didn't see the small guards problem in Utah. Cavs overpaid Garland by a lot, he doesn't play D, turns the ball over and isn't reliable from the three. Mobley is a skinny big who can't handle or shoot the ball, yet he'll want a big payday. Markkannen is a much better center than Allen. This rebuild has not produced a contender and Spida likely won't return what they paid for him.
I still can't get over the trading of Lauri Markkannen….
The problem isn’t Mitchell other guys need to up they game!! If we play teams like Bucks Celtics a healthy denver and Suns we gone need some one like Mitchell to go get 40!! Its not his fault Evan shitty ass cant post up a damn guard and Garland just turns the ball over every time he drives 🤷🏾♂️
This will go down as one of the worst trades in NBA History. Cavs really played themselves
we didnt NEED Mitchell…just WANTED him for whatever dumbahh reason…smfh…if it aint BROKE dont FIX it…thats how the saying goes i think..lol…now its REALLY broke and yall tryna FIX it…STILL trryna find Markennans replacement but this cavs team had a big 3 …that year garland and allen were INJURED playoff time…allens wrist and garlands back…all we had to do was get healthy…trade sexton and keep all our assets…probably couldve kept markennan and landed somebody like mykal bridges or even michael bridges…and still have tons of ASSETS😂😂😂….but instead we have another ball hog plus high efficiency shot chucker making a this money…but his game doesnt fit the Cavaliers…the one game he showed growth…speaking about mitchell…is when game vs Knicks in playoffs happened….Donovan Mitchell led the game with 14 assists in a blowout win vs the Knicks….but the s.o.b. never went back to being PASS FIRST….shit…STILL hasnt …and until he does…youll NEVER see the CAVS play great like this …..unless hes injured…😢😢…sad to say…but true…him AND levert…because his passing iq is LOW…meanwhile…Garlands like a Steve Nash for us…lol… EXACTLY what the cavs NEED for continued success with these bigs…TO BE CONTINUED
problem is JB the coach is trash, Mobley is offensively wack. But the hall we gave for Spider was insanely too much. I forgot how Colin Sexton was included in that deal…man Darius was so stunned and Lauri woulda kept a scary all 7 footer front court.
I really dont think its donovan mitchell tho, hes been really efficient for us and is a positive on defense since last year. What i do think is hero ball and lack of off ball movement has become something that has made sort of derail us in regards to team ball however i attribute that more so to lack of coaching and structure. Mitchell doesn't strike me as a selfish player but more of someone who can get tunnel vision when with the ball, so with a strong coach that would help elevate mitchells ability and give him the proper guidance that would help him buy into a system rather than trying to become the system, it would make this sort of situation non existent.
He plays hero ball. Cavs winning 4 without him by playing as a team speaks volumes.
This is likely Donovan’s last year on the Cavs and they are not winning a championship this year and they probably can’t make it past the second round. A repeat of last year failing in the first round shouldn’t surprise anyone either. Not only are they undersized and have no defense in the backcourt, that also applies to all the backup guard minutes, all of the SF minutes, and the backup big minutes. As well as the team not being good enough at shooting to have elite playoff offense. The Cavs trade was a worse idea for them than the timberwolves trade.
