Rockets could be a top 5 seed if JG was anything close to a shooting guard man

  2. shameless_chicken

Jalens home/road disparity is honestly baffling. There has to be some explanation

  3. irishggggg

I feel that game went bad once Tari got taken out. Bro was hustling for every ball that was in the air.

  4. RGPISGOOD

Rockets are eliminated from the in-season tournament

  5. We lost this one due to our own low BBIQ.

So many dumb plays, from so many players.

    Extremely disappointing.

And we need a 3pt shooter.

  6. I missed the game, Jalen had 0 freethrows. Is that real? Did he just not attack the basket?

  7. LilBottomText17

One thing I hate about being a good team, is that I’m no longer numb to losses like this 🙁 pain. pain is all i feel rn

  8. Wakandaforever456

Tough loss. Sengun must make the all star team this season.

  9. I don’t understand why we give Jalen the superstar leash. The only time you leave players in for crunch time that were as cold as he was this game is when they are your superstar. Jalen has not proven he is a superstar. This isn’t a hate post, he’s made improvements in his game and I still have hope for him. But this isn’t a team trying to tank anymore, the guys in the 4th should be the guys who earned the right over the course of the game. You can’t tell me he earned that over Tari this game. I’m not saying we shouldn’t start him right now, but when he’s cold it’s insane we are afraid to ever to go with anyone else in that spot.

Edit- there’s a lot of people here who auto downvote any Jalen criticism and that’s weird man

  10. Sequence of Brooks missing wide open 3, then JG’s stupid turnover n Brooks stupid foul cost the game

  11. kookie2008

On the bright side the games that will be added to our schedule should be easier teams

  12. The_New_New

Basically, consistent SG-play away from being a great-elite team.

Also tough to win games when you shoot awful from 3 vs a bad defensive team (who are elite on offense).

  13. rybres123

Put Tari in the starting lineup instead of Jalen

Too many 12 point games for a guy who can’t play defense. Let him close out games if he’s hot, but that’s all he deserves at this point

  14. Zbrushgyu

As long as Jalen can’t have at the very least three games in a row in which he performs well, he cannot be a starter.

  15. Dillon was too fixated on Luka. I feel like Jabari did better defending him when he had the chance.

  16. Euphonious36

We don’t have the horses to win close games like this just yet, in my opinion.

It’s hard to have faith in Jalen to do good things for more than a couple of games at a time, tonight he hurt us.

I can’t wait for these guys to grow and become the powerhouse they can

  17. TVjunkie15

I’m not even a JG hater but what exactly has he done to show he deserves to be more of a focal point in the offense than Jabari? JG may be more likely to go for 30 but he’s also way more likely to shoot 5-20. Jabari HAS to be given more opportunities. I’m far from giving up on Jalen but he should not be so clearly ahead of Jabari in the pecking order.

  18. Top-Square-8912

Only winless team in the league on the road. For a team with #1 defense in the league that’s embarrassing. Coach needs to get a lot of blame for how the guys came out to play tonight. I know they had a lot of time off but that’s coach’s job to get them ready. And nba schedulers are dumb as fuck. Almost a week off then play back to back, makes sense smh

  19. Tisroc447

One the one had, brutal loss, on the other hand, I’m glad rockets games make me feel something again

  20. Jabari needs more looks in this offense. That pull up jumper is pure.

  21. inshamblesx

we really got our hopes up about jalen turning a corner bc he beat up on the corpse of the grizzlies 😔

  22. nonetimeaccount

THAT STINGS AFTER SUCH A SOLID COMEBACK

KYRIE AND LUKA GONNA KYRIE AND LUKA

I’M MADDER THAT JALEN DIDN’T GET A SINGLE FT THAN I AM ANOUT HIS FG%. YOU CAN MAKE UP FOR MISSED SHOTS WITH MADE FTS. REFS FUCKED HIM A BIT, BUT HE’S GOT TO FORCE THEM TO MAKE CALLS. W

NEED TO MAKE MORE 3S. AIN’T GOING TO WIN IN THE NBA IN 2023 SHOOTING LIKE THAT.

THE THING I DON’T MIND ABOUT THESE ROAD LOSSES IS WE’RE IN ALL THE GAMES. WE’RE SO CLOSE TO GETTING OVER THE HUMP.

    ALPI KEEPS IT GOING

    BARI KEEPS GROWING

I LOVE THAT HOLIDAY HAS NO FEAR TO SHOOT ANY SHOT AT ANY TIME. I HATE THAT HOLIDAY HAS NO FEAR TO SHOOT ANY SHOT AT ANY TIME.

    TARI NEEDS MORE MINUTES.

    NUGGETS AGAIN? LIGHT WORK.

    STAY TIPPIN

  23. ajalonghorn

Can someone please explain to me why Tari was not put back in after a short rest? Like, wtf?

Team high +9, most of the team was in the negative. Passed the eye test too. What was Udoka thinking with that?

  24. andresigora

Hmm… so, may I ask: when is Cam Whitmore going to log on some minutes? The bench DESPERATELY needs some offense.

  25. purple_vanc

We need to start featuring Jabari more he’s been shooting well

  26. dpatel211

Bari needs to be getting the rock more especially when the rest of the team is shooting terribly, right now he’s the only guy I’m most confident with in their shot (w/ Alpi as well obviously).

  27. manofconviction

These teams with “superstars” get insane treatment by the refs. We’ve seen it with both LA teams and now with Dallas. It literally makes these close games unwinnable for teams like us.

  28. Simple_Wait_7286

You know it’s bad when even Dirk is wondering where Jalen Green is (had to watch the Mavs broadcast and Dirk was a guest commentator for the game).

  29. Lord_Shugesh

Another L exposing the team’s mediocre offense. There’s not real drive threat on the team which let’s defenses play tight on our shooters. Fred doesn’t shoot well from 2 and is too small to drive consistently. Jalen is also small in frame but on top of that has a bad handle which means he can’t get to where he needs to be without defenses just being dumb and over-committing. The league is run by the ability to drive-and-kick, and our two guys that could excel at that are rookies.

Also while people are rightfully gonna go after Jalen for his inconsistent offense, bad turnovers and low bbiq, the worse part might be his defense. Smart teams just hunt him all game especially in PnR because he’s genuinely one of the worst players in the league at getting around screens.

On a positive note, Jabari has looked consistently good. He’ll really benefit in the future from a guy like Amen who can make the defense collapse and free up space. Also Sengun is that guy as usual. A lot of guys were listed as probable tonight and we have a b2b tomorrow. We might actually see Cam for a bit, and hopefully a damn road win.

  30. lachdanan13

Except for the Orlando game, the Rockets always fought until the end, with small margins, small mistakes, need small adjustments, only one step to be like an experienced team, not so far, almost there, but when a horse ran that fast, sometimes collapses that fast, maybe they need a blowout loss to come back to themselves on the road game, I dont know man, they overjumped some steps too fast as a team and stucked on the last obstacle to be real good…and watching it is a bit frustrating even knowing that this is a very young stars leaded, a new team.

  31. andresigora

Let’s face it: no one expected us to come out of this IST group when season began. It’s not the end of the world. We got the least points allowed in the West in IST games and second least in whole league only behind the Knicks. There are silver linings here. Overall, we need Jalen to be able to contribute on the road and Dillon Brooks to stop fouling out every game specially when he’s just trying to play mind games with the opponents bedt players.

  32. BigTonyEnergy

Really underrated how we kept getting layups in the clutch like 4 possessions in a row. That’s the advantage of having a post-scorer as a star. Unfortunately, could not stop Luka and Kyrie.

  33. WuziMuzik

Disappointing. Besides the offense just being off tonight, the issues are correctable. Some inexperience, and focus stuff mainly. The refs did help some, but they hurt some too. Either way they need to stop trying to mess with games so much.

  34. Top-Square-8912

For a top 2 pick shooting guard who barely scores 20 a game inefficiently, his defense and decision making sure is garbage. Shouldn’t close games or play more than 25 minutes/game until he decides to play defense

  35. xedizzzlex

Do you guys realize how lucky we are we drafted Sengun? He practically is saving this rebuild. we drafted him at 16. And If we hadn’t our rebuild would have been dead on arrival with just Jalen and Jabari. Our lottery guys have to step it up.

  36. Still can’t win on the road Jesus … Doesn’t help when Jalen is still so useless. Get Sengun some help for fuck sake

  37. Jalen.. you do not need to be Iverson-MJ-Kobe… just be a Jamal Murray. nobody is asking more.
