  1. I stopped watching the games when they were available in my area. I also stopped watching the post game interviews with the coach and players. I got tired of hearing the same reasons for losing and seeing players make the same mistakes during games and this includes Cade. I thought they were bad under Casey butvthis is ridiculous. They have too many issues to identify them all but one they do not have a veteran on the floor to lead the team . They need a KD, Booker etc they are trying to win with Walmart money and it wont happen. The young players are just being demoralized and broken down. What about Monty?

  2. I knew the moment we extended Isaiah Stewart with a year still remaining on his rookie deal that the Pistons would be doomed. I admittedly anticipated slightly cracking the 20 win mark prior to the season, but even that seems like a pipe dream at this point.

Now is Stew the source of all this team’s problems? Of course not. Is his contract an abject albatross? Not necessarily. But the signing exemplifies everything wrong with the Pistons’ front office and the organization as a whole from the top down.

Stew had already started more than 130 games in his career prior to this season and all he had proven was that he is not and never will be a starting caliber NBA player. His career numbers were beyond mediocre for a starter (and they still are). He can’t create his own shot, is undersized for his position, has no post game, cannot put the ball on the floor, and sorely lacks the athleticism to be a rim runner or a lob threat.

BUT…he “hustles”. He plays with “effort” and “energy”. He’s the “anchor” and “emotional leader” of this young team.

And that, of course, was more than enough to sell this front office.

By paying Stew and effectively cementing him as your starting PF of the future, it indicates that the Pistons are more concerned with assembling a team full of guys who fit this goofy culture that they’ve conjured in their twisted minds rather than going out and trying to acquire people that are actually good at basketball. They couldn’t care less about surrounding Cade and Ivey with the proper pieces to help spur their development. The most important thing is keeping the “emotional leader” of the worst team in basketball over the past 4 years on this roster and ensuring him a starting spot.

Entire organization is a dumpster fire.

  3. I think the front office was banking on drafting Wimby. Somehow he ended up in San Antonio courtesy of the crooked NBA draft process. Notice how Pop got an extension when they were awarded the #1 overall pick

  4. I have to admit that when Monty started the season not only refusing to start Ivy and then barely playing him – I got flashbacks to Matt Patricia's BS nonsense when he took over as Lion's coach. How do you start the season undermining the confidence of your young players like that? Then you don't play Bagley when he's healthy? That's some crazy shit Monty.
