Despite the new NBA In-Season Tournament rules, Billy Donovan wasn’t happy with the Boston Celtics intentionally fouling Andre Drummond while up 30+ points.

Man this cry baby shyt gottta stop you shoulda put ya starters back in uncompetitive mfs I hate this pull starters out early bc we suck bs
Cs may still not get in
Celtics ain’t playing around this season
They want to win everything 😮
Had the Nets not won their game, the Celtics would have needed to win this game by 43, so yeah, a 32 point lead wasn't enough.
you're up 32 with 7 mins to go 🤣 if you choke you'll choke regardless, making Drummond shoot free throws won't help in any form
I'm not gonna lie, having to explain these things mid-game between coaches like this is not a good look for the game, best to change the tiebraking procedures from next IST onwards, otherwise rlly awkward situations like this will continue to happen, and I acc feel bad for putting coaches to act like Mazulla did here… PD def should go away as the 2nd tiebraking rule, should be pushed to last. There are still a lot of early-2010 NBA players in the league today that will find it unsportsmanlike and introduce violence last-minute (like Derozan), once that generation goes away, then it will be fine to use PD as a tiebraking procedure, otherwise NBA can continue to cope with players feeling its unsportsmanlike, cuz at the end of the day that's how the NBA always worked prior to 2000.
Ya I think it’s classless but also on brand with the Tatum era Celtics who can bully people when they’re rolling and then look like g-league the same week against a lesser team for no reason
I find it really really really dumb that losing teams have the audacity to question what the winning team does… its up to the celtics to do whatever they want… regardless of the score its up to them. Losing team always gets so overly sensitive… this is why their team stinks! Instead of focusing what is wrong with their team they are more bothered about what the celtics are doing
only americans get in their feelings about this. i think it's great for the game and makes watching blowouts as a fan more exciting as the end of the game actually matters. the point differential thing is not new. it's already been done for years in european or asian leagues. alot of players are taught in those countries to play until the final whistle or not to play the scoreboard.
To all the people who thinks this is a bad look for the game, just shut up. This is what we want to see Superstars giving maximum effort even on a blow out game. The losing side should not have a say on how the the game should be played. If you got your feelings hurt, then put more effort to have the game as close as possible.
Now give this effort during the All Star game
This is competition. Run up the score until the last buzzer.
Do I need to call the in-season rule book officer?
I LOVE it. They understand the new rules. The rest of the league still needs to catch up tho.
no excuse for poor ft shooting, all about putting in the work
Without in-season tournament they would not need to think this.
Don't hate the player, hate the game.
if drummond making his freethrows, celts will not be doing this.. but drummond still bricking, so there you go..
