I don't understand why we're shocked so many players don't compete anymore. Why would you compete when you have guaranteed generational wealth coming in every game? Like for real, players make more in a quarter of basketball than most of us will in a year. Let that sink in. That's not even taking into account endorsements and investments they can make due to the type of wealth they have.
I would like to see the commissioner look at ways of "inspiring" players who aren't feeling it on certain nights. Perhaps fining teams 50% of their game salary for loses over 20 points is a start. Maybe the answer is to force teams to refund tickets. We are getting a terrible product and I'm sick of this talk about player empowerment. Ownership as well as players need to be hit where it hurts. Morons like JJ Reddick call old school players plumbers as if it's some type of flex but I'd prefer to go back to the intensity and love for the game we used to see in the 80s & 90s.
