This game can't tarnish LeBron's career because it wouldn't have happened if he had already retired.
It's like investing with money that you already made; you're not losing your own cash because you already made it back, so everything past that point is just an additional bonus, not a loss.
Last year there was this incident in which a LeTantrum occurred and following that the Lakers began averaging TRIPLE the number of free throw attempts they were getting before. This TRIPPLING began immediately after the LeTantrum, BEFORE THE TRADES and continued for the remaining 32 games of the season. Keep in mind, the Lakers were ALREADY #1 IN FTAS/GAME in the league! This bizarre trend is not present this season as of yet, but there IS a trend starting to crop up: on average the Lakers need a large FTA advantage to win.

Game meant nothing to Lakers. They didn't care if they lost by 100. It was just a game that they already got paid and just needed to show up. They're playing not to get injured and nobody got added to 4 injured rotation players. They only play 8 players. Why bother to decrease that. Season is young, less than 20 games in season so they just didnt try hard. Coach's strategy is show up in uniform and just play. No memory of this one.
