  1. Claxton gets injured, and Giles gets no minutes bothers me though.

  2. It’s true that without CJ injury i don’t know if we’d have had as many CT minutes, maybe the same for Claxton/Trendon.

I disagree with this, coaches always have to make tough decisions. Bringing CT off the bench initially, rocking with Watford or even Brooks instead of some other deep bench guys, choosing when to play small ball with DFS, etc.

I get what he’s implying, that when at full strength some top end guys might not close games, but it feels like he’s just trying to discredit JV. Maybe it’s just me but I’m not a huge fan of Doug’s takes

I think Vaughn has done a great job with the rotations this year and more times than not has pulled the correct levers at the right times. We basically won the one game against the Heat entirely because of Vaughn correctly reading the situation and using the bench to light a fire under a team that looked beat from the opening tip-off.

As described by the OP, he will have some decisions to make when it comes to Trendon Watford and Dennis Smith Jr. if Simmons actually makes it back.

Lucky? Our main scorer is and facilitator are out. I’d say he can be a little rigid at times but he is a decent coach. I’d love to see him with a completely healthy squad, I think he’d do well with who we have now.

I wouldn’t say he’s been lucky at all. I think he’s shown a good ability to get good matchups, press the right buttons. Look at the win in Miami. Armoni Brooks coming in and going off.

I’d argue he’s had to make some tough decisions. Lonnie Walker wasn’t in the rotation immediately. Watford, played well, then had to sit a couple games. What tough decision is there to make? I guess when Cam comes back, does Lonnie sit more? When Ben comes back, are you able to play him with Clax? That’s just seems like normal coaching decisions but okay.

That’s probably the one I’m most curious about getting Ben on and Clax on the floor together. It looked disastrous against the Cavs. so that’s probably going to be the biggest challenge. But who knows if Ben is even coming back at this point.
