  1. AD still plays center even with Wood in. Come on Perk.

  2. HenryGrosmont

I’m going to sound like a boomer but he HAS to play center here and there. I mean, in many occasions, this is the advantage the Lakers have in a matchup.

  3. whowasonCRACK2

Cleaningtheglass.com has AD playing at center for 100% of his minutes this year and 99% last year. When will this dumbass narrative die?

  4. lets_talk_basketball

Bam Adebayo is smaller than lebron but plays center full time with no issue. But ad being 7ft 250 doesn’t wanna play center. Shit is disgustingly soft

Ad playing the 4 means lebron has to guard wings, which at this point of his career he can’t do in the regular season consistently.

  5. Nefariousness1-

Why are people still surprised AD can’t guard elite traditional centers? He has always struggled and will always struggle against any center that has size on him who has any semblance of a post game. If the Lakers are gonna continue to trot him out against those guys 1 on 1 they need to have a better game plan defensively to help AD out. Lakers have had too many great centers for fans to not understand this simple concept. You put a power forward on any great center and it’s BBQ chicken alert.

  6. Rentfreelakerfan

Why is this still a convo? AD has played center for most of the minutes he’s been a Laker.

  7. ReasonableCup604

AD loses about 25% of his value, if you are forced to play a mediocre or bad player at center, next to him.

If he really doesn’t want to play center, I question his heart and commitment to the team. It’s not like he’s going up against Shaq, Hakeem, Ewing, etc. every night. These days, most NBA centers are the easiest guys to guard, and having a guy like AD who can guard a 5, but who can’t be guarded by most 5’s is a huge edge.

Of course, this might just be Perkins spewing nonsense, as he typically does.

  8. Due_Platypus_3913

NOBODY wants to play Center anymore!Or point guard, really.Everyone wants to be a wing/shooter, NOBODY wants to PLAY A POSITION!

  9. Markel100

AD litterally shares the floor with wood it never looks good playing a good team outside of that phx game

  10. No-Equipment-20

Of all the dumbasses on sports TV Kendrick Perkins might be the dumbest

  11. NNOutBurger

Bruh who cares just play center. Let this sink in the lakers trade for AD when he was 26, literally entering his prime and 4 years later we are having a discussion about should AD be mad about playing center. Like wow besides 1.5 good years this AD era has been trash.

  12. Downtown-Conclusion7

LFR is wrong on this one. Lakers aren’t built around AD it’s built around lebron still. If the team was built with AD has the focal point you have serviceable Cs than can at least provide rim protection and really let AD roam a bit more defensively.

  13. bee-eazy13

The problem is, we don’t have anyone to protect the rim if he slides to the 4…and he doesn’t have the offense to be a 4 either.

Also, Lebron is too old and slow now to play the 3. Quite the dilemma we have. The Lebron and AD duo might have run its course. Both are best at the same position

    1. that jumbo lineup with wood, rui and ad works if we can get out in transition. someone other than AD just needs to pick up the post, so he can roam and be the ADPOY help defender we all love.
    2. I want to see Castle rim run with AD, Bron and the boys.

  15. StoneColdAM

AD is good as a guy who can switch between 4 and 5, not solely play one spot. Against the Bucks, AD should play at the 4 to cover Giannis. Against the Nuggets, AD should play the 5 (at least on defense) to cover Jokic. In 2019-2020, we had enough size off the bench so AD could switch like this. Since then, the roster hasn’t had enough backup bigs and wings. This year’s team is the closest to correcting this error, but not quite there yet.
