[Dane Moore] Mike Conley on playing the final 15 minutes of the game without a rest: “I didn’t pay attention at all. I was good. I promise you, I was not tired. I looked up, saw it was like four minutes left, and I was like, ‘Oh, I can’t come out now.’ … Felt good, feel good right now.”

  1. > **Dane Moore:** The Wolves were down 72 to 76 when **Anthony Edwards** got hurt and had to check out. There was 2:40 left in the 3rd quarter. **Mike Conley**, who normally plays 6/7 minutes at a time, checked in for **Ant** and played the rest of the game. Wolves won those 15 minutes 34 to 27. Huge contributions from **Troy Brown Jr.** in that stretch — but **Conley** being able to stabilize things for that long, and lead the team in minutes on the night, at 36 years old, was massive. Gave so much more than his 3 for 14 box score suggests (check that plus-minus, though).

Love the professionalism from Mike last night. Some times you gotta put in a little more work to make it better for everyone else.

  3. Did anyone else feel like Kyle also changed his game when Ant got hurt? He wasn’t trying to score as much before but then switched to scoring more. I think that also helped.

  4. Conley and Gobert are team altering players even at 36 and 31. Through the years fans have been clamoring for a ‘vet presence’ to mentor the likes of Andrew Wiggins, Zach LaVine, Towns, Ant, Rubio, *insert other FRP here*, etc.

We’ve generally had young teams with some 5-8 year vets, but these guys have totally shifted the culture. Credit to them and the young guys for buying in.
