A 1st and a rotation player would be a great return for Buddy. Hope Chad B, Pritch and Co can pull off something like that.

I don’t think they should feel like they have to do something. The cap space created by Buddy walking could be very valuable in trades as well when looking to sign someone. If they find a deal for a pick and a rotation player they feel is worth long-term investment fine if not its OK.

I just don’t see how it’s economically feasible to keep a one-dimensional, 30 year old role player long-term. I love Buddy for his charisma and approach to the came. He can offensively light a spark when we are struggling to score. But defensively, he’s still not better than average. And when his 3 ball isn’t falling… it just makes me wish it was someone like Nembhard, Nesmith or Mathurin getting the burn so they can get the confidence they need.
At some point we need a talent upgrade. We don’t need 5-6 players all making between 15 and 20 million who would be the 5th best player on a championship team.

Probably just trying to get his price up. See if teams will be willing to pay that price which I don’t see happening
