Hope you guys enjoy and learn something today. Always a blast to talk with Caitlin. Back tomorrow talking Heat!
"Let's talk about about how Jalen Smith has been doing this season. 2:30 time limit start now.
By the way, Jalen Smith will miss the game in Miami. Also, Oscar Tshibwe will be brought in. Also, Jalen's health status will be reevaluated on Monday."
Nice time management, Anthony.
Too soft to be legit.
Patience is a virtue
She's actually going to try and stick up for Buddys Defense? He's been absolutely atrocious. There was a reason he was just benched this last game after going 1/6 from 3.
He's had two real good shooting games and one decent one and had been terrible in every other one of them. There was a reason he was pulled last Game and pulled against Detroit. He was absolutely horrendous coming off the bench too.
Other people that comment have noticed so She can gloss over it all She wants. And the Team has been losing more too since he's been inserted in the starting lineup.
Buddy had two games where he basically made everything he Shot and was absolutely horrendous in all the other ones. He was so terrible off the bench that he was losing any trade value he already didn't have
I one million percent guarantee Buddy will be gone by trade deadline.
He gets pulled at the end of Games for a reason. They should have lost Atlanta game if Tyrese didn't go nuclear and they were losing against Detroit when he was pulled and he was 1/6 against Portland which was also a loss. But go ahead use seaaon Stats to make a point when He's been atrocious most every game this Season bur 2 or 3
Nice analysis, I always enjoy Caitlin's appearances. I hope to see cohesiveness in the upcoming stretch. I had given up all hope after the Blazer loss but after a day or two to recoupriate I'm hoping for the best
Ricks rotations are awful. He doesn’t know how to develop talent. Wish you all would finally critique Rick. Caitlyn does here some because Rick wont stick to development. Ive said it from the beginning Rick will always play the vets any chance he gets. Weve been worse with buddy starting
Haliburton is a great player but he can't guard a chair. Guards on this team can't keep anyone in front of them.
LOL—the Buddy-Haters are foaming at the mouth 🤣
I said Jalen Smith since the end of last year was that guy and he'd be everything I said he'd be. Also I said Aaron Nesmith was a player that would play and should be viewed as a long term piece. I said then I'd trade Jackson and sign Smith. If I had to let two guy's go out of all them. For upgrade purposes, not counting any of our best player's. It would be Nwora and Jackson. I like Nwora at time's and Jackson in small spurts.. But Jackson doesn't do enough of anything that I don't think Oscar could bring more of in that 3rd string role. Tough nose rebounding big 7'4 wingspan. For Nwora we could trade him for a Caruso, or a more defensive minded wing. I'd like to draft 6'10 SF/PF Bobi Klintman. I'll do my more extensive Draft guy's search here soon. I honestly like Bobi right now better than I like Walker. Even though I still have hopes for Walker and think he can become a solid to really good defender. He only needs to work on his shot and even more so driving hard to the rim. Probably needs to develop his handle. Like I said he's slower so he needs to study guy's like Kwaih Leonard. Who uses hesitation dribble moves. Controls the pace before he turns up and could blow past guy's. I absolutely love Shepp. I think he could eventually come in and be a Buddy Hiled type of replacement. Even though I wish we could keep Buddy in some ways because of his consistency and chemistry with Hali. But I wouldn't overpay because his defense. I want to get an OG, a trade of Nwora or Jackson for a young defensive 2 way wing type. Even if you have to stick a 2nd with it or two to get one. Even a Rui would work well in our system. Vanderbilt as a 3rd string replacement for Jackson. Can we get Christian Braun? I loved that dude, he's a high energy player who can drive and shoot.
OG, Trey Murphy, Keldon Johnson, Devin Vassel, Bogdan Bogdonovic(last year 23/24, 3pt41.1%, trade them Buddy get their 24 2nd of Mem/Was and another, or a 1st. Then flip Bogy again for more capital and a younger player if not just keep him. Depending on assets brought back. Wiggins would be a dream, or a nightmare if he played bad. Or Paul George coming back home is an option for me. I'd trade a Nwora for a Caruso. I'd even play Caruso 1-3. A Vanderbilt over Jackson.. Then Bobi Klintman, another strong Wing and a big big defensive beast of a C all in the Draft. There would be great. Just a starting point.
Arbitrary time limits cannot contain Tony and Caitlin. If anything, this was too short.
16 is my number 16 is me and I am him
I feel like this second year iteration of the team is basically about winning, and figuring out who are long term pieces. It looks like Tyrese, Nembhard, Mathurin, Nesmith, Smith and Turner are the locks. That's our starters and depth at the 1, 2 and 5. Pretty obvious that we cant guard 3/4s and we don't have any good 3/4s that are over the height of 6'5. We should be looking at swinging a big trade and anyone not mentioned above should be on the table. Getting a defensive wing who can shoot would make such a big impact on this team.
Despite any disagreements with how the internal development is going, Tyrese has been so good that I can't complain (too much).
Watching Jarace and Shepp in the G league, they will be getting more NBA minutes soon. Their court vision and defense will allow them to work very well with Tyrese.
Mathurin, I agree with your points. Buddy is simply the better "go-to" scorer right now, and a better release valve when the play isn't working. But hopefully after some continued development on the 2nd unit we can see some Maxey-like growth and he returns soon to start.
