Yes, this has been so obvious. Hart comes in for RJ, and the offense starts to crater. IQ should come in for RJ, then Hart for Grimes, then bring back RJ and Dante Randle and Brunson. Our rotation would look like this.

    Starters

    Brunson-IQ-Grimes-Randle- Mitch/Ihart

    Brunson – IQ – Hart – Randle – Ihart

    IQ-Donte-Barrett-Hart-Ihart

Hart being the first guy off the bench is killing us. He’s a perfect 7th guy on this team. I am also hoping that we bench Grimes for Donte, because I think Grimes will get a bigger role with the second unit.

Yes. Put in IQ for RJ or leave RJ in to take out Grimes then sit RJ for IQ later.

Thibs is probably eyeing this. Could bring in IQ instead of Hart as the first sub. This is a far more logical first change to the rotation than starting DDV over Grimes, because starting DDV over Grimes literally changes all of our rotations, whereas bringing IQ in instead of Hart does not change a ton (doesn’t change the starting lineup or the main bench lineup).

The Hart lineup racked up some bad numbers early in a 3-game stretch RJ was out, which included games against at least 2 of Boston, Cleveland, Bucks. Maybe the lineup with Hart has been better by the numbers since then? If not and if it continues to struggle, I could see Thibs making a change. IQ is so freaking good.

  4. RJ was super hot to start the season and Josh Hart has been struggling until recently so no surprise there honestly.

And then look at the big picture – this team is fine. We’ve beat teams worse than us most of the time and usually by wide margins, and lost to teams that are stronger than us but not getting blown out except one of the Celtics game and that Wolves game.

Sure sometimes the team just slacks off for a whole quarter for no reason, but it has shown it’s capable of making a comeback.
