Funny post I saw from the Orlando Magic sub

Funny post that I saw looking up Chet on the Orlando Magic subreddit after he hit that crazy shot to head into OT vs the Warriors. I know a lot of people are comparing Chet to Wemby, but what about Chet and Paolo? I personally think both teams found their guy and the Rockets got boned so far with Jabari.

(Pls don’t go into the Magic sub and spread hate I just like lurking on other teams subs to see what they think about us.)

Jabari has been playing pretty good? Or am I missing something. Not same caliber as these 2 but he’s not a bust

  2. “Fan base values their franchise player over another franchise player they don’t watch as much” is not really a surprising or bad take.

Jabari is definitely not a bust – he’s not what ORL would need and you wouldn’t trade Paolo or Chet for him full-stop. But a 6’10 stretch-4 who can defend all around the perimeter, is a solid rebounder at the wing (just under 8 boards per game), is 50% from the field and 37% from 3 as a third/fourth/fifth option at 20 is nowhere near a bust.

Put it this way – if HOU wanted their picks back for Jabari I’d have the league office on 3-way to make it official before they changed their minds

All three teams can be happy with what they have.

Magic fan here. The disrespect for Chet in our sub is kinda ridiculous. It feels like major cope. Idek if most of our fans watch other teams. I’ve been tellin my brother that once our team gets really fuckin good we’re gonna be the most hated fanbase in the league. So many delusional takes. I mean, our sub really thinks Paolo should be in MVP discussions. I love Paolo, but there are major flaws in his game. Right now Chet is just better, it’s as simple as that.

  5. I think this is a rare case where both Orlando and OKC got the right guy for their needs. Orlando needed an offensive engine, OKC needed a floor spacing big with handles. They’re both awesome and probably not as good on the other team given that we have Shai and don’t need another less efficient ball handler.

  6. If the Magic drafted Chet and we drafted Paolo, we’d wax poetic on how much better Paolo is than Chet.

We’re 1.2 years into their careers, and Chet spent 1 of those years injured.

Drafts take minimum 5 years to assess. We all love what Chet is bringing right now. He’s a ferocious competitor and has a phenomenal skillset.

He’s also only played ~18 games (I don’t know exact number of games we’ve played so far, sue me). *if* he’s a healthy player that plays most games and is available for playoff runs…GREAT. If his lanky body develops KP like availability issues…FUCK. The quality and merit to decisions are judged by time, not the emotion and evidence of the moment.

We could’ve had Franz instead of Giddey btw

Chet has consistently made clutch threes under a minute left in the games.

would you like to go down the rabbit hole here of comparing Giddey to every player that went before or after him?

  10. I reckon having Jabari, Paolo, and Chet in the same team would be great. Add a couple of guards and that’s a good starting 5.

We could have had a team of Giannis and Jokic, with russ and KD and harden. What if!

Chelsea let Mo Salah and Kevin De Bruyne walk for nothing.
