Throwing this out here for the big 4/ Maxi discussion. From a game feel mobility and guarding down the lineup POV I think DLiv could play a Maxi-ish role next to a center. You don't want that to be your permanent spot for him but he has all the physical, mental, and non shot skills to play that '21 Maxi role allowing you to have another athletic defensive rim roller on the roster that views themself as a starter if DLiv can become passable in the corners. Then he can work on pick and pop above the break over time. The other center example I'll use is Claxton since BKYN seems set against giving him 20-24 mil per year deal I would guess they trade him by the deadline.
I really like the new look of Josh on the left and Kirk on the right. Good balance.
Dante Exum looked great
Luka averaging 2 TOs over the past 6 games. Also shows (partially) better defense and despite still barking at the refs he is showing better composure. All good signs.
Enough with the “playing down to their opponent” bullshit please. This team was Luka + undrafted guys, second rounders and league castoffs for 5 years! If anything they played up to their competition against good teams for how untalented and unskilled the roster has been for Luka’s entire career.
They are 3 – 3 in their last 6 games and didnt play great that is a very positiv sign for the season!
