Superstars or elite Wings (like OG or Mikal), nobody else please. Derozan and Lavine do not fit into either of those categoreis, stay disciplined folks

Fournier and a Protected is all I’ll give up for a 35 year old former star player.

If you have to do a trade with the Bulls, DeRozan is the safest bet out of their Big 3.
A classically trained bucket-getter with the length to at least be average on defense doesn’t sound bad to me.
The Bulls ain’t getting IQ or RJ in this trade, but I wouldn’t mind overcompensating with picks if it gets the job done.

Not sure DeRozan should be the target, but this team’s opportunity for this year entails going after 2 major improvement areas:
1) SG/SF – I would keep RJ, but think he’s more of a 2 than a 3, so either use Grimes, Fournier, and picks to get a 3 or if they want RJ to stay at the 3 – then go after a 2. This of course depends on who is available/comes available, but if there is a choice between RJ and Grimes – I’m on Team RJ. Makes DD and Hart’s roles so much better defined.
2) A Back-up PF should be easier to get. Numerous guys to play 12-16 minutes a night behind Randle can be had IMO without having to go overboard. This role just needs to be filled.

Derozan is so meh defensively. I’d feel bad losing Grimes in that deal. And I’m sure Thibs wouldn’t be too happy w losing his best POA defender. Can easily see this being a deal for Derozan and Caruso if the bulls are tearing it down.

Nah, imma do my own thing
heliumointment
we can’t get him without trading RJ or JR.
and if we do either of those trades, we’re still too light at the 3/4.
lateral move imo / marginal improvement

Nah I’m good

I will take DeRozan because RJ and Grimes are waste of roster spot on this team

Absolutely No….. unless he comes for nohing, which it wont happen

We don’t need another black hole in the offense

I know majority of this fandom are going to say no because they rather Leon keep signing role players and hype trash young players like RJ Grimes McBride Sims and are 100% ok wasting a talent like Brunson his years going no where.
PG13 no thanks Harden no thanks Jrue no thanks Dame no thanks Spida no thanks Embiid only if we are sending trash
Meanwhile Leon trades out of every draft and passes on a talent like Hali but he’s a genius

I wouldn’t hate it if it’s incredibly cheap/ he signs a team friendly deal and is willing to take a smaller role as the contract goes on, but otherwise no

We have to accept the fact we are allowed to get better incrementally. It doesn’t have to be super-star or bust when we make moves….
If DeRozan only cost us some combination of Fournier, Grimes and some protected first ..why not? Gives us depth up front. Keep in mind, Chicago’s gonna want that 1rp pick of course since this is their reboot…
….*and we don’t owe Hart or Divo anything accept a paycheck…let Thibs figure out their minutes*
DeRozan is still playing elite ball btw…he’s not a washed scrub.

How about Caruso?
blkhwk27
idk how a derozan trade works bc i dont think hes worth fournier + a young guy + other salary filler considering his age, hes expiring, and not really a hugeeee need. caruso intrigues me tho
kidkuro
Would be a bad fit. Knicks just in this to boost up his value. Only two players from the Bulls I can see the Knicks wanting would be Lavine as we need a wing who can shoot, or Patrick Williams as a backup PF. You can possibly make an argument for Caruso if we don’t plan on keeping IQ long term.

Derozan would make our bad spacing worse, is on an expiring, and is 34 years old, so personally the only way I’d feel good about doing this is if it was for something like Fournier, Jeffries, Windler and one 1st. I doubt that’s enough for the Bulls to consider, but then again I doubt the market for a Derozan trade will be strong so maybe if the Bulls still suck at the deadline and there’s no better offer

Wouldn’t mind it. I think LaVine stays though.

You guys are fucking dumb taking Grimes over DeRozan is fucking crazy
Swift_42690
Derozan would be a terrible fit on most teams. He is bad at spacing the floor, stuck in the past with mid range jumpers as his go to scoring, and a below average defender. Plus he’s way past his prime, not a good match.
Save our assets for modern wings that space the floor and defend at a high level. I would love to get OG but I know the raptors ain’t trading with us anytime soon lol.
