The Nets and Hornets played to the wire on Thursday and Brooklyn had a clean look at the win. But the Cameron Johnson shot didn’t go down and they lose a heartbreaker (and a bit embarrassing) game to Charlotte.
Spoiling Cam Thomas’s return, this was a tough look for the Nets when it was all said and done.

After the last game against Toronto, those guys pushing for us to trade Ben for Siakham are delirious. Siakam couldn't get Toronto over the line against us, what do you think he could do for us against Boston, Dallas, Philly, the Bucks or the Nuggets?
Do you really think Siakam could take us to a win against any of those teams? Really? Really. I don't think so.
What this team really needs is a coach who could sit down with Ben and talk to him about improving his free throw shooting. Maybe change hands, practice 4 hours a day, see a sports psychologist or whatever it takes to get him to do something about his scoring. Because his ability in all other areas of the game is elite and I mean really really elite.
If Ben could improve his free throws up to around 80-90% he'd be a 20 point tripple double threat every game. Against any team.
We just need a coach who can get through to him. Maybe both a coach and a manager together.
The clock is ticking. Ben is 27 years old. If this is going to happen, it needs to start now.
Look at Nick Nurse. He's pulled Embiid aside and had a good long talk to him and what he wants to do is turn him into Jokic. Turn him into more of a facilitator while still keeping his scoring, rebounding and defensive game.
But then again maybe I'm wrong. Maybe Ben won't care at all about bball after next year. Maybe he's got other things he wants to do with his life after next year. Because I don't think he would want to keep playing on the vets minimum for another 5 to 8 years.
What JV did with Cam T last year was unforgivable. Cam should have been playing a lot of minutes after the KD & Kyrie trades.
He should have been a starter at least in that 4th game against Philly.

The defense had been bad all season so you have be clutch when its needed. CJ has to make that practice shot.

This was completely embarrassing and pathetic. From the jump, defense was not the way how we were gonna stick this one out. Should have threw in your best offensive weapon when you needed it. I don’t want to hear how they kept CT out for defensive purposes or minutes restriction. Complete BS. The team needed something, knew they couldn’t stop terry and the hornets because they guarded the hornets ONE way the WHOLE game. JV looked like an absolute bozo tonight
Ngl this was a coaching disasterclass. And i find it funny clax had a high ankle sprain which is way worse than what cam had and came back with no minutes restriction but cam has a minutes restriction?
I was at the game, Cam pointed to the bench to get subbed out in the 4th, he was gassed the entire game. I did not expect that to be the last we saw of him though.

Honestly did you guys watch the game. We didn't play terrible defence. We outrebounded them and didn't allow many offensive boards. Simply put they caught fire from 3 like we did vs the Bulls and shot way out of their usual average. Move on ffs
Again, just a bad loss so all I can do is wax poetic about Cam Thomas. I hate to bring it up, but in a lot of ways, he brings back feelings of Kyrie Irving. Not that they have the same game, but just how beautiful they make scoring the basketball and getting into their bag. How they get in the mid range and get to spots on the court and how they get the ball over bigger opponents and rarely get blocked.
Is he going to be that all-around playmaker probably not he’s kind of an old-school shooting guard like Kobe but if he can raise up his assist to about three or four game and maybe another four rebounds, then you’re talking about a top-tier player in the league.
