  1. Someone said that a better reward is either a guaranteed 7th seed for at least play in 2 games or guaranteed 15th pick with a 1% chance at pick number 1

  2. My suggestion would be to make it last all of November (10 games)

and have each team play both a home and away game vs their group and 2 games vs the other groups, so point differential is less important with common opponents.

  3. tournament is great – change the group size to 4 or 6 and you will have less teams with the same record and the point differential gets less important

  4. Winner of the IST gets to pick who they want to play in 1st Round of the playoffs. If they don’t make the playoffs this year it rolls over to next year. Who says no?

  5. The only problem with setting aside a section of the season the do the tournament is that teams who're knocked out will get a few weeks of rest so good teams might throw the tourny to rest their guys

  6. Verno: Love your idea and you are absolutely right. BUT. The NBA has tried to make this with the minimal extra games. And so the single elimination games you mention are kept to a minimum. Same problem with KOC's comment: they really don't want extra games and they also have to worry about reserved arenas.

  7. Reward should be home court advantage in every playoff series if they make the post season, a guaranteed spot is WAY too messy. Home court advantage isn’t even a big deal IMO like in a potential game 7 you get home court alright lol
