Not to be too much of a homer as a long-suffering Wolves fan, but the schedule that they've gone through (with consideration that they've had good luck on opponent stars not playing and back to back games so far) has put them against a lot of the other contenders. Blowout against the nuggets, OT win against the celts, this OKC win. Their energy advantage has been important but the wolves are going blow for blow with GOOD teams, they aren't just racking up wins against the bottom of the league (looking at you, Lakers)

People dont know how to feel about MN on top. Too many think its always gotta be an LA team or Golden State at the top. Even Denver or Dallas. Smaller to mid market teams having success drives media outlets crazy because tjey want to talk about LeBron

i like what i see from them. the offense should evolve and get better as the season goes, but the defense has been great for the most part. holding teams under 100 points in today's NBA is tough to do and they've done that plenty already. title contenders for sure.

We have Kat this year and he had more than a minute to learn how to play with Rudy. That's the biggest difference. Ant gets hurt he puts up 30.. This town has been so disrespectful about Kat and what he brings to the team.

People just don't understand Gobert. KAT and Anthony Edwards are playing better defense specifically because they have to do less with Gobert on the floor.
Gobert is an incomplete player. As such, you have to build the team in a way to emphasize his strengths and minimize his MAJOR deficiencies. Utah did that really well, but unfortunately Donovan Mitchell felt like the team should emphasize his strengths as 'the star' of the team and didn't do his part to make the team play better with Gobert's deficiencies. No surprise that he had the same exit in the playoffs last year.
Once Minnesota picked up Conley who understood how to play with Gobert, it seems like the rest of the T'Wolves have bought in and can see that Gobert will carry 80% of a teams defense, and if you feed him the ball on offense once in a while (always above the chest), you can have a really good team and a sustainable culture. When Gobert feels like he's the only one on defense giving any effort, and never gets the ball on offense, he can become quite toxic and call out his teammates for lack of effort.
