this is tatum's PR answer. he's tiptoeing around getting fined. he's right. that was a bullshit tech. the refs were "ready." the refs trying to give the sixers an advantage there. that was a weak flagrant foul and tech.

The refs were not wrong … a definite offensive foul … refs simply wanted to review the play to decide if there’s anything extra as Covington was lying on the floor … magic word or not .. and it seemed Tatum was overreacting .. and he deserved to be thrown out .. Idiotic for him to say “not getting his money’s worth” maybe he meant to yell FY on the refs to get it .. stupid behaviour on court and press conference afterwards

it's definitely odd that the refs this year have been calling techs on the celtics for hanging on the rim for less than 2 seconds, clapping, and grimacing. i wonder if there's some illegal betting happening that the refs are taking part of.
The game was bullshit. No question about it. But Tatum has to be careful criticizing refs too much. He already gets fouled and benefits from ref calls about as much as any player in the league.
That said, they had it out for sure in this game.
