Leo Rautins on the Raps 20 games in: “Different system, different coach, but the same things are cropping up.” “Scottie may be the variable because he’s growing, but your other main core, you’re getting to the point where you gotta make a decision.”

masai said he’s still evaluating
I was a bit surprised to hear Leo talking this bluntly about his opinions of the roster. I’m glad he was honest about it.
Jack Armstrong also chimed-in by mentioning that the team clearly needs more shooting.
There was some really great insight in this episode of Raptors Tonight. I find that these guys are very level-headed and not so reactionary like a lot of other media outlets which is nice. To hear them say these things means it’s not just the sensationalist social media personalities with these opinions anymore. It’s pretty validating of a lot of fans concerns about the direction of the team.
they’re basically saying the same thing. this team has had no shooting for three seasons now and at some point you’re gonna have to move some of your guys who can’t shoot for guys who can. The FO has to understand this – one assumes they just believe they haven’t yet had the ideal opportunity to do this but… they’re running out of time.
It’s not confusing, most people recognize that we need to trade Siakam. It’s nothing against Siakam, great player, but the team would be better off with other pieces you can get in return for him. There’s a lot of players out there to be had and I guarantee teams trying to win right now would be willing to get Siakam. Trust me when I tell you front offices around the league haven’t forgotten that Siakam was a big part of a championship run for the Raptors.
Ideally we need 1 more shooter in the starting lineup.
in our starting 5 we have Scottie and OG. we don’t even know if Scottie’s shooting is a long-term thing yet.
We have OPJ who we barely play for some reason. at this point he should get 10 mpg. if he gets injured, well too bad.
We have Gradey who’s picking it back up in the G League.
if we get those 2 back on the bench, we really just need another shooter on the starting lineup.
but imo it’s too late for tinkering at this point.
just trade Siakam for young players. One of which could be a starter who can shoot the ball.
We might get worse short term but it will be a nice foundation for the future and our roster construction will at least be decent.
He’s right. Maybe they go on a large winning streak but if this is the same record or so in a month then we’re heading towards trading Pascal.
I don’t think people are going to be happy with the results if we end up trading Siakam.
Don’t he’s gonna get a haul back, otherwise they would have done it already, and this team will really struggle without him, Scottie included, without much left to build on.
shit the company men are saying this means they got the greenlight from big boss to hint something is coming
Anyone like the Wiggins/Kuminga for Siakam suggestion Bill Simmons made on his latest podcast?
A lot of players are not eligible to be traded until Dec 15 and some not until Jan 15, so I’m really hoping that is part of the reason for waiting/“evaluating.”
Can’t take blood from a stone.
We can all see that Scottie is the only player showing us promise that he still has room to grow.
Everyone else has shown us who they are. It’s frustrating because there is absolutely no need to evaluate any further.
Masai is most likely going to do the bare minimum at trade deadline.
I miss Leo on the broadcast
Even the commentators are tired of watching the same thing over and over
Best trade for us would be sending siakam to indiana. They have plenty of young players and shooters we could use. Id even take buddy hield and myles turner tbh
A little disconcerting that Pascal has the 2nd worse 3p%, but hopefully things even out a bit for him this month and going forward. Will probably make things a little less dire
