Big Mitch just posted this to his X feed on why he didnt share the story of him letting his high school coach stay with him after the coach lost his wife. Mitch just being his humble self.
Here’s the video of the coach’s interview: https://streamable.com/fxzd76

Public people should still have a right to have their private lives be private (provided they’re not breaking any laws).
Good for him.
People heard this story and asked him why he hadn’t tried to gain some public glory for it on his own time? Really?
Man, social media age scares me. Mitch seems really cool.
I don’t know why fans or the media think players owe them anything. That’s his business.
Mitchell Robinson would be a terrible youtuber. Probably wouldn’t film himself giving money to a homeless man. Selfish
MITCHY NO SNITCHY.
even on himself for something positive.
mitch rob with the rejection!!!
Don’t know he even explaining himself. Ain’t nobody biz
Sanitaztion Home, Charitable Homie and Humble Homie
I love this guy
Great response to a corny fucking “look what I just did” culture
Oh no the NBA sub is downvoting me I better go harm myself.
PATHETIC. LOSERS. ALL
Sleezeball New York reporters not leaving alone something clearly personal? And you wonder wonder how they get that rep…
What a solid dude
STOP CUTTIN ONIONS UP IN HERE!
“I did it for him not for social media”
Posts about it on social media
What a sad reality where people are asked about why they weren’t *posting* about helping someone out. Must it be known by thousands and millions for him to be happy about it? Love the answer Robinson gave.
Doing a good deed and not broadcasting it to everyone on social media is a typical normal human behaviour 🤷🏻♂️
It would actually seem not genuine if he were to be bragging/posting about it to the public
Scott Perry said the thing he was most proud of with the Knicks is the development of Mitch as a person. Can see why.
As tempting as it would be, I’d never want what comes along with celebrity. Nothing is private. Bob Dylan talks about people coming up to him in the street trying to touch his hands, because they believed there was some magical quality. In the Imagine documentary, a man shows up at John Lennon’s house, because he thinks he knows the answer to life. This is obviously not to that level, but it would be nice if this part of his life was just allowed to be private. If he wanted it to be public knowledge, he would have made it so. Nevertheless, kudos to MRob for being a good human
Mitch is my favorite Knick, and the longest tenured right now. The video of him learning how many offensive boards he got against the Cavs last year is fantastic.
Read the quote too fast and thought his coach was the one who was like a mom to him
I hate social media first wackjobs. Good for Mitch
it looks more like the plot of a bad 80s movie than anything nefarious
What a heart-warming story. Big heart, Mitch. Big heart.
Sad how some people have to think that you can only do good things if it’s for social media clout smh. Mitch just wanted to do help out someone he cared about and it should have just been left out. It’s nice a thing like this got known because it could potentially help others but trying to make it a publicity thing is terrible.
Watching Mitch grow and mature over the last 5 years or so has been a pleasure as a Knicks fan
Robinson with the HOF act of love and compassion.
generosity clout is weird
