Not shading but advice.

GOOD LORD even the opposition sees the problem! This is embarrassing.

  1. *Barely beats the Warriors at home without GP2, Wiggins, or CP3

Guess he didn’t see GPII block Wemby…

The Dubs do lack rim protection – but finding a big who can do that and stretch the floor is really hard. Just having another big won’t help – it has to be the right big – one who can pass, rebound, protect the rim, and hit the corner 3.

TJD has a lot of those skills – but he’s not that big and, of course, still has a lot to learn. He’s going to be great as a small ball center or PF, but he’s not the answer to this problem.

Draymond has been a top 4 defender in this league for the past 8 years. I think we could definitely use another rim protector, but the amount of people discounting Draymond’s defense is absurd. Just recently in a game he single handedly stopped a 3 on 1 fastbreak.

    We need a big!!!

    Not rocket science.

Looney is way too slow. He tries , but just slow.

At this point, seems like Kerr prefers no big man.

I’m judging based on the USA team going small and leaving bigs in the bench, even tho US team was getting abused on the boards

Also, judging it in the fact we haven’t had a big in years.

It’s crazy that you would surround a top 5 all time great (Curry) with smallish players, no rim protection and get frustrated he doesn’t win you chips.

  6. How would a rim protector end up on this roster but also in the lineup. Spicy p time?

He’s right. Looney is not a center we can win with starting anymore. He doesn’t provide offense and he doesn’t protect the rim and plays average to below average defense.

Klay and Wiggins have been catching heat but at least they are top 15 at their position. Looney is bottom 15 and the weakest link in our starting lineup. Trades should be focused on upgrading the center spot with a true rim protecting big center that can also finish layups. Someone like Poeltl takes this team to a top 5 team in the west

To be honest, we can live without a big even though I keep saying we do.

BUT ONLY IF our 4/5 position can knock down 3s.

If Dray can shoot 40%+ from 3-pt land and attempt 3-5 a game, it’s enough to make other team’s bigs move more on defense (to defend Treymond). Dray’s actually shooting 47.2% so far from 3-pt land for the season. I doubt he’ll keep it up, but if he raises his attempts to 5-6 per game and can knock down 2-3 a game, I’ll take that.

Now if Dray/Looney can’t shoot 3s? Other team’s centers can just sag off on defense and not chase Dray/Looney at the 3-pt line, and on offense it’s just easier for them as they’re taller and stronger. That hurts when our team is indeed undersized + not shooting well.
