There are currently two players in the NBA averaging 50-40-90 shooting splits: Karl-Anthony Towns and Naz Reid.

KAT is currently averaging 22.2 on 50.3-41.8-91.1 shooting splits, while Naz is averaging 12.6ppg on 51.4-40-90.6 shooting splits.

This is *not* a post crowning either of them as the newest members of the 50-40-90 club; it’s really early in the season and is kind of an arbitrary mark to begin with. Just a few days ago, Halli was also at 50-40-90. There’s no guarantee that either Naz or KAT stay at 50-40-90 (in fact, I would be shocked if they did). But it’s pretty remarkable that not only are the only two players currently averaging 50-40-90 shooting splits both centers, but they both play for the same team.

  1. Someone needs to throw a bag at Naz Reid, it’s criminal how he’s on Twolves bench

  2. If you go on random team reddits you’ll see fans propose trades to get KAT like he’s a throwaway contract, like the Wolves aren’t playing great and have no reason at all to even consider a trade of KAT, but they are like “should we include RJ Barrett in this trade, or is 3 2nd round picks enough for KAT?”

KAT got sick of watching Embiid win MVP and decided to ball out.

This team is so unexpected and cool. It’s great when teams become prominent out of nowhere like this.

I get a little annoyed by the comments from both wolves fans and others about “everyone else wanted us to trade him!” “Wolves fans wanted to trade him!” Who fuckin cares? I have been the biggest KAT fan in the world, but why not welcome folks to change their minds based on what’s happening this season?

It is OK for people to change their minds based on the growth he is showing and it is OK to say, I thought one way about him in the past and things are looking different now. I expected him to get back to form as an elite scorer and all-NBA type offensive talent. I did NOT expect him to get way better on defense, to start showing signs of maturity re: fouling and refs, and to accept his role so willingly and effectively as a 1B at times and still step up as “the guy” when we need him to (and do so while still letting Rudy dictate so much of what’s happening when they’re on the floor together)

He is playing the best basketball of his career and who gives a fuck what you or me or whoever thought in the past.

  6. Remember when everybody was clowning the Gobert trade based on results despite the fact that you still had a winning record with Towns missing 53 games? Pepperidge Farm remembers.

He isnt even in his final form. Any Wolves fan can tell you that KAT kicks it up a notch after All Star Break. Im calling it now, if he keeps playing like this he should be in the MVP conversation.

“We’re a real team, we pass to each other”

  9. There probably aren’t 5 players who’s actual value is more undervalued by casual NBA fans when it comes to trades/talent compared to real life than Towns right now. NBA fans think he is absolute trash when he’s really good. It’s like because he isn’t the MVP or had some terrible performances, he has suddenly turned into complete garbage, he’s not even on people’s minds anymore as a good player, people just think he’s really bad but can have a good game now and then and maybe can be rehabilitated. They see him like James Harden or Ben Simmons.

It’s pretty funny, every time I watch Kat play live he looks awful. I haven’t been watching Wolves games recently and LO he’s playing exceptionally well.

    Glad he’s figured things out.

KD who just 70 ft without a miss in a row is only a few made ones away from averaging 50-49-90

Dude Kevin Durant is at 51.2/49.6/89.6 on 31 ppg.

I think we can round 89.6 to 90.

    Cmon man lmao.

  13. A reminder that the “*50*” should be 2FG% instead of FG% overall.

Too many guards eliminating themselves from contention from high volume of three.

I think KAT may be able to sustain this who’s at 52.5/39.6/83.7 for his career, Naz Reid at 50.5/35.0/72.3 is either having a hot streak or somehow managed to completely revamp his form during the offseason
