The Resurrection Of Rudy Gobert…

Rudy Gobert is back ladies and gentleman. That is all 🙂

  1. He is lowkey having an MVP-level impact on the Wolves right now. His defense against the Thunder was a masterclass. He went from defending a corner shooter, providing help defense, then smothering a midrange, then became a rim protecter than contested another midrange shot out in space…all by himself in 10 seconds. I didn't know he could be THAT impactful, I was like WTF?? Couldn't believe my eyes. He guarded the whole Thunder team by himself…
He can disrupt the flow of a 5-man lineup on his own, that is insane.

  2. KAT had an expression on his face after slapping Rudy on the back after last nites win that wasnt mugging for the camera or in front of his team.
I was an expression of a guy who's fully realized what Rudy can do for him and where this team can go…There's a buy-in happening in that locker room.

  3. He's highly overpaid and really really bad. They've found a role where you can hide him and use the most of his strength. In Utah he got so much credit for the all world defenders around him, and then when they were no longer around he was exposed. Now he's the 5th best player on his team and under 0 illusions that its his team. If they all fall in line behind Ant, the team is legit. But he's a glorified role Player. A lanky Roy Hibbert. You can use him. But he's not good.

  4. B.S and nothing but Lies.

Rudy Gobert outside of block had a individually better season last season without their team Co-Star in KAT and only having a Younger Ant.

The only difference now is The Timberwolves are healthy with their whole team from the start.

So the Fake Sport Media and YouTube Irrelevant Noise was just wrong in thinking getting defense to add to your 2 Young Star wasn't important.

  5. Great video. Timberwolves finally have great chemistry after 3 seasons of Ant, 1.5 seasons of Conley and 1 season of Rudy. Good job to the coaching staff to bring out the best in each player.

  6. I thought Rudy Gobert was obviously a dumb ass for his Covid antics, and last years playin shit. But I don’t think or I never understood the massive amount of hate towards him. Yeah he’s stupid for the Covid stuff, punching a teammate but missing is better than giving your teammate a cte before the season starts.

But he gets a lot of hate imo for no reason. So I’m glad he’s had a comeback season, since I do know he was harassed a lot online.

He’s like the Harry maguire of basketball.

  7. Gobert never actually left, the Timberwolves just weren't using him effectively on defense last season. This season they've reworked their defense to center Gobert's rim protection like they should've been doing to begin with, and the result is the best defense in the NBA.

  8. It was always frustrating how people used to trash Rudy. It's like they would watch the offensive player walk by them and say, "Rudy got it". Oh no, the guard pointed at his teammate, "Guess I better switch" No fighting over screens or pre switching Gobert before the player comes up like Miami and GS do for Hero and Curry.

  9. Very simple answer is that there is no resurection. He joined a new team that had no time to reshape their defense around him. Full offseason and KAT taking a step back realizing Edwards is their #1 and the defense being built around Gobert. Its pretty easy to see. Hes not some offensive superstar who can keep his numbers up by moving and getting isos. He relies on the teams defense being built around the skills he brings, when thats the case he is lockdown.
It really shows that theres a lot of people making basketball videos nowadays that either dont watch nba basketball and study it day in and day out like analysts on espn do, or just never really played ball at a decent level. Just like the game and wanna hop in on the takes.

  10. I like gobert for the 99.9% percent of who he is and what he does. The only thing I didn't like was his covid actions at that time.

  11. I was a hater to start not gonna lie. It didn’t seem that he was effectively being used and he was just kind of….there. I’ve loved Rudy for 4-5 years now and I am so glad I was wrong he’s been SO much fun to watch this season.

  12. i think last year i heard Rudy was dealing with a back issue all season and was just trying to play through it…..sort of like Sabonis and his thumb. This is Rudy at full strength which is terrifying

  13. Saying he has no offensive game whatsoever is a bit of a stretch. He might be one dimensional on offense but that doesn’t mean he isn’t effective around the rim, granted he doesn’t have much touch but being 7 foot has its perks

  14. Think this trade looked so because how people value defense, today’s nba is so much about offense and defenders like Rudy get undervalued by pretty much everyone. With that said wolves probably still overpaid a bit but look at what this man is doing!

  15. Only issue I've ever had with Gobert was his actions at the beginning of COVID, but other than that, he's been a solid player. Happy to see teams like Minnesota and Orlando stop being doormats.

  16. Thank you for addressing Rudy Gobert covering up the Jazz’s lack of perimeter defense. It was always so annoying hearing people who didn’t watch the games talk about Rudy in the playoffs when he tried covering multiple spots.

  17. Compared to losing 5 1st round picks for joe smith, this is awesome…and 4 1 st rounders is not ur entire future…especially when there every other year and we got assets….we went for it…I'd rather try and fail then not try at all. Go Wolves!

  18. Let's be real here, the Timberwolves are looking like winners here, but 5 first rounders for Rudy Gobert is crazy.

I say this as a defence enjoyer, I think JJJ should have gotten all-NBA over Sabonis, simply because you can't ignore the DPOY like that. I think that JT is better than Luka, simply because of the defensive gap.

But for 5 first rounders I'm expecting an MVP candidate. For 5 first rounders I want atleast 3 all-nba selections on my teams record. Rudy is not that guy.

    I'm loving his play tho.

  19. Rudy got hate for the Jazz failures, but I’m here to say as a person who watched almost all their games. Rudy was the least to blame since without him their defense was trash he had to make up for the team’s short coming. On the offensive side there are hundreds of possessions where Rudy was wide open in the post but they never fed him the ball. Instead throw up bricks. Mitchel is a great star player but he sabotaged Rudy many times by being so selfish with the ball.

  20. I liked the trade then I didn't like it because it was taking so long to gel. I like the trade again and what I expected to see I see it with this team Wolves fan since 1989

  21. saying gobert is responsible for the losses is like saying rodman didnt carry the bulls cos he couldnt score, yet the bulls won 6 titles wiothout the dpoy scoring that much, COS THE OFFENSE WAS good at defending too. people hate gobert cos he is a french not a us-player schooling us-boys. same seems to happen with wembanyama wihtout any reasons. us-media hates euro players cos they steal the show and they spoil the american delusion of superiority. the wolves went straight down the line of what made nba teams rule since decades, a power trio, take any team that dominated, wether its magic, kareem and big time worthy, mj pippen and rodman or kobe shaq and whoever or robinson parker and duncan. no need that all three absolutely domiante in all 3 stats at any given time, they just need to congeal perfectly. and now its jokic, murray and gordon and they hate on the serbian guy…

  22. Seriously. Loved this video! One thing that feels distinctly different this year vs previous ones is Rudy’s ability to guard on the perimeter too! Wasn’t a part of the Jazz years at all and if you watch each game this year, we will opt to switch up in coverage during PNR defense and IT WORKS. Handsomely.

He’s on a whole other level this year.

  23. Rudy was hurt all last season. His back was really bothering him and thats one reason for his declining play last year. I also think him trying to fit into Finch's system was also a factor. Rudy is healthy now, and you can tell that he is just by the way he is moving on the court. The wolves have built a team of players that have bought into playing defense. Even KAT is playing the best defense of his career.

  24. Rudy realizes this timberwolves team is prolly going to be the next dynasty. AnT Ed took his game to near max level.

  25. Defense is always underestimated by people who don't know basketball, just because they can't understand the difficulty of what is to be done in this area of the game, especially in the NBA where the offense is so much favoured. I think people who know basketball, they might not like his style, but at least they know his efficiency. Problem is, in the media there are a lot of imposters, talking sh*t, just there to make some buzz.

  26. Wolves won this trade. Vando, Beasley, and Beverley aren’t even with the Jazz anymore. Kessler had a decent rookie year but looks to have regressed his second year. The first round staggered picks will be late round picks that probably won’t pan out anyways. This Wolves team just needed time to gel and they’ll get better
