Related to this, I figured there would be some national media Embiid narrative backlash after the MVP year and all, but it’s getting out of hand. Lowe had JJ Reddick on his podcast this week talking about the best offensive players in the league (after Haliburton went off last night), and JJ made some smarmy comment about how he wasn’t going to bring up the MVP. Uh yeah JJ, god forbid you mention the guy who led the league in scoring the last two years, and is currently #1 again this year, in a convo about best offensive players in the league. Give me a break.

Genuinely no judgment as I know they have a lot of great writers that work on that site, but I refuse to give clicks to a website run by Bill Simmons.

Your mistake was opening the ringer. I have never and will never give Bill Simmons any clicks

It might be intentional. The Ringer guys are legitimately weird. Like when Sixers fans claim Doris Burke or national guys hate the Sixers they’re being victims.

I was skimming through about 20 minutes of the Ringer podcast and I heard one guy call Jokic their lord and savior, and then another guy pretended to pray to him.

It’s like the Ringer filled with that new generation of nerdy fans who do analysis remotely with no proximity to the actual game.
