Putting on my GM hat, here are two trades with the Bulls and one trade with the Suns I feel that the Mavs can make. I didn’t include any Second Round picks.
Josh Green & Dwight Powell to the Bulls for Patrick Williams. Why the Bulls do it? The Bulls have been lacking with Lonzo Ball missing from the PG/SG position due to his season injury. They get a defender at the guard position to fill his spot. And another big to replace the one they are losing in the second trade. (Alternatively, they could receive Markieff Morris’s non guaranteed contract instead)
Why the Mavs do it? They get a solid defender at PF who can guard bigger players. Dwight Powell
is added to replace Andre Drummond.
Mavs’ trade exception to the Bulls Andre Drummond (and maybe a second round pick) The Mavs have a trade exception that the Bulls can take advantage of. I had to seperate the trades to allow them to recieve it.
Why the Mavs do it? They get a big that has size, rebounding, sets great screens, and when fed in the post can score in traffic.
The third trade is Jaden Hardy to the Suns for Yuta Watanabe. With Bradley Beal being out they recieve a guard that can score when given the green light. They need shooters at the guard position.
Why the Mavs do it? They get another long wing that can defend, and shoot threes. He previously played for the Nets and played great next to Kyrie and Curry. He makes smart decisions with the ball on offense and defense.
In conclusion,
The Mavs incoming players: Andre Drummond, Patrick Williams, and Yuta Watanabe.
Mavs outgoing players: Josh Green, Dwight Powell, & Jaden Hardy
Here are some potential rotations:
Luka/Exum
Kyrie/Curry
Grant Williams/THJ/Watanabe
Patrick Williams/DJJ/Morris
Lively/Drummond/Holmes
This is just an mental exercise at 7am. What does everyone think?

I’d rather die than have Andre Drummond or Clint Capela. We just need Daniel Gafford, who I believe is the cheaper better option that would work with Luka and the team.
I think you should take your GM hat back off….
That Hardy trade makes 0 sense.
