Has there ever been a stadium, anywhere in the world, where economic claims made before building were accurate?

Wait… so if the owners paid more money and the city paid less… it would be a better financial deal for the city.

Glad they brought in the PhDs. /s

It seems like based on their last comment that they are assuming the Thunder won’t leave. That is a risky proposition though. Yes the burden on taxpayers is high, but if the Thunder leave it loses significant annual revenue for OKC. Does that suck, sure, but with the scarcity of NBA teams there isn’t room to play chicken with the owners.

Yeah they are right, can’t wait to vote yes.

It’s 22 random PhDs. Who cares. I can find 22 that agree with the opposite

  6. But all the kids on this sub told me it was a great deal?

I know money is a big deal, but what if we do lose the team to this and then there’s one less thing to do in OKC? Isn’t there some kind of intrinsic value to having the team (and a better venue overall) in OKC? The city already gets shit on so much for being in fly-over cow country and loses out on so many events every year to Tulsa.

All the smart PHD’s and economists know the downside if they leave, correct?
